What's the Weather Like in Puerto Vallarta in October

The temperatures begin to fall in October in Puerto VallartaMexico, but so does the amount of rainfall as the city finally leaves the rainy season (June - October). Temperatures are still very pleasant at this time of year and the fewer downpours means that it's a great time to visit to catch some last minute sun before winter sets in.

Temperature

Average daily temperatures sit at around 26°C, though the mercury often soars to 32°C and above during the hottest parts of the day. Even after dark it's really mild, with temperatures rarely dropping below 20°C. Pack lightweight summer clothing like t-shirts, shorts, and swimwear for the hot days and a thin cardigan or jumper just in case it gets chilly when the sun goes down. Suncream is a must-pack, as the sun is very strong at this time of year.

Rainfall

October marks the end of the rainy season in Puerto Vallarta and sees a considerable decrease in the amount of rain that September has. You can still expect to see around 131mm of rainfall throughout the month, so not completely dry remember to pack an umbrella and some waterproofs so you don't get wet.

Sunshine Hours

Puerto Vallarta enjoys a tropical climate thanks to its location so close to the equator so, even though October is heading towards winter, you can still expect to experience around 9 hours of sunshine per day. This provides plenty of time for you to explore all the attractions on offer as well as kick back and relax on the beach.

Sea Temperature

Visiting the beach is a popular activity for visitors to Puerto Vallarta, partly because of its stunning coastline, partly because of its mild weather, and partly because the sea temperatures are so warm in October they sit at a very pleasant 29°C, providing ideal conditions for swimming, splashing around, snorkelling, and watersports.

October is a great time to visit Puerto Vallarta because the rainfall is beginning to diminish and the temperatures are still very warm perfect for an autumn beach break!
