Playa Sabinillas
While the weather isn't exactly perfect for swimming, you can easily soak in some sun and relax on a lounger by the sea. Playa Sabinillas is a good place to visit, a fine stretch of sand as long as 2km and only 40m wide, and proud owner of a Blue Flag for safety and cleanliness. Its shallow blue waters do get slightly warmer towards the end of March, so you might still get to dip your toes and not regret it. This beautiful beach sits east of Puerto de la Duquesa, near the Manilva River. There is a seafront promenade sprinkled with funky chiringuitos, bars, corner shops and kiosks.

Dolphin Café Bar
There are plenty of good options for foodies when visiting Puerto de la Duquesa and its surrounding villages. Among the many seafood and international cuisine locales. The Dolphin Café Bar is always a good stop, with friendly, welcoming staff and a relaxed atmosphere.
It's a charming and delightful family-run bar sitting in the heart of the marina, with light snacks and tasty sandwiches as part of its varied menu, a plethora of refreshing drinks and cosy sun lounger-style armchairs on the terrace overlooking the port and the sea. It's an excellent stop on the sunnier and warmer days of otherwise capricious March.

Things to do in Puerto de la Duquesa in March
Duquesa Marina
Whether it's cloudy or bright and sunny, the Duquesa Marina is always an absolute pleasure to visit. You can make your way down to the boat yard, where dozens of luxurious yachts float on the blue waters, their smooth lines glistening in the morning sunlight.
Further along, little fishing boats await to be taken out to sea, flanked by charming little fishing huts adorned with nets and wicker baskets. There's a plethora of boutiques and terraces open in March, as well as seafood restaurants and tapas bars.
Duquesa Golf and Country Club
Perhaps Puerto de la Duquesa's most precious modern day jewel is the Duquesa Golf and Country Club, one of Sir Robert Trent Jones' design masterpieces on Costa del Sol. It opened its doors in 1989, and it features a harmonious display of smooth greens, lush greenery settings and a clubhouse ready to serve you fresh and cold drinks, while you relax on the terrace, soaking in some sunlight.
This splendid design rises in two returning loops around El Hacho, a high mound overlooking the sea and the surrounding splendour. Numerous tournaments and courses take place here, and memberships are available all year round, but they also welcome tourists and occasional golf enthusiasts.
