What's the Weather like in Puerto de la Duquesa in February

The last month of winter brings the average temperature up to 15°C, with the night following the same trend, increasing to 12°C. The warmer and sunnier days can be expected to reach up to 17°C, making Puerto de la Duquesa a nice option for a romantic weekend getaway. February offers a mild but sometimes surprising melange of weather conditions, from nice and relatively dry afternoons, to rainy days, early morning or evening fog, and even snow if the night time temperatures drop low enough.

Golf courses are just 5 miles away, easy to reach by car or one of the local buses. The rooms feature a modern and simple décor, along with a lounge area with flat screen TV, en suite bathroom and balcony overlooking the beautiful sea. You can also enjoy drinks at the bar and spend time in the game room if the weather isn't good enough for long walks along the beach. Sailing clubs can also be found within walking distance, as the marina buzzes with fishing boats and yachts.

Hostal Montilla

Set in the heart of Torreguadiaro, Hostal Montilla offers great value for money, offering 9 delightful rooms for some very competitive prices during months like February. It's a family-run business, only a 15-minute drive from the beautiful San Roque, and it boasts a sun terrace, among other things.

The beaches of Torreguadiaro and Sottogrande are about half a mile away, and the hostel rooms feature air conditioning, a simple and functional décor focused around a cosy lounge area with flat screen TV, as well as an en suite bathroom and splendid views of the sea.

A restaurant and bar can also be found on site, perfect for breakfast or evening drinks, and golf courses are only a 15-minute drive away. Hostel staff can also give excellent advice in terms of tourist attractions. Marbella is only a 40-minute drive away.

While the weather isn't the best for beach fun, when the sun is out over Duquesa you can still get some quality time out by the seashore. With the bright blue skies and wisps of white clouds covering everything, you can still go for walks around the marina and even explore the southern beaches all the way down to Torreguadiaro, and witness the grand beauty of Spain's natural masterpieces clusters of rocks peeking out of deep blue waters, strips of fine golden and even white sands, and bold mountains towering in the backdrops of Costa del Sol. Picnics can always be a good substitute during months like February, if you can't keep yourself away from the beach, just don't forget a cardigan or a jumper, as the wintery maritime breeze might still kick in and surprise you.

Bars and Restaurants

For quick and scrumptious snacks and drinks you'll always find a plethora of cafes and tapas bars in the marina of Puerto de la Duquesa. Numerous boutiques and seafood restaurants are sprinkled along the narrow alleyways, enclosed in whitewashed buildings and small squares.

Bar Cafeteria Griffins

An excellent choice would be Bar Cafeteria Griffins, a simple yet welcoming locale specialising in both local and international cuisine. They serve very good lasagne and pizzas, as well as shrimp cocktails and a large selection of pizzas. The atmosphere is always relaxed and the staff are friendly and professional. Be wary of lunch time though, as it does get busy, but the upside is you can always order takeaway and head down to the beach on the sunnier and warmer days of February.

Ciao

The Duquesa square gets very lively even in the evening Ciao is one of the local favourites, serving a delicious selection of seafood and Italian dishes, including pizzas and pasta. The food is well cooked and in not too large portions, and paired with excellent local wines. Ciao is a good spot for late afternoons and evenings, as its friendly and laidback atmosphere simply invite anyone to come in and relax over tapas and hearty red wine.

Things to do in Puerto de la Duquesa in February

Golf

A great way to spend the sunnier days of February is playing golf. Whether you're learning or a pro, golfing is an excellent way to relax and enjoy the good weather in Costa del Sol. Dona Julia has been sublimely integrated into a natural environment by famed architect Antonio Garcia Garrido, and it sports an 18-hole extravaganza spread over thousands of square metres of exquisite greens.

It offers breath-taking views of the Alboran Sea and the North African coast, along with quality elements implemented into its structure, meant to respect the nature surrounding it. The greens themselves are at least 700sqm each, and they slope gently across the course, offering excellent playing conditions for all kinds of players from absolute beginners to high level professionals. The course also holds regular golf classes and the shop is an absolute haven for golf enthusiasts.
