Puerto de la Cruz Beach for October
Playa San Marcos is a remote beach to the North of Puerto de la Cruz. Here you will find just over 500 metres of dark volcanic sand with rocky cliffs on each side. The beach has a small car park with public toilets. There are no facilities on the beach and no hire places or lifeguards. Across the road from the beach you will find a small selection of bars and restaurants. This beach is frequented by locals and has a very authentic Canarian ambience.
Restaurante Punta Brava is a country kitchen style restaurant serving authentic Canarian food as well as some dishes to suit the less adventurous. They are situated across the road from Loro Parque making this the ideal place for dinner after a long day in the park. The prices are very reasonable making this an affordable alternative to the restaurants in the park. The decor is in a rustic country style with high beams and arches. The menu includes basic dishes such as pork fillet with caramelised onion, salmon and goats cheese salad and a very good fried chicken with chips. They are situated at Calle Bencomo 64.

This small and unassuming gelato shop is the perfect stop for a sweet treat on the way back to your hotel after dinner or when you get too hot at the beach. The gelato is made on the premises and they will take you to show you the process if you ask. Children will love seeing how the gelato is made. They have a range of 30 gelato flavours including pear, Kinder Bueno, peanut, mixed fruit and Oreo. They are open till late at night.
