Protaras is one of the most famous tourist resorts in Cyprus.

It is located on the southeastern-most coast of the country and is often referred to as âthe land of windmillsâ because of its old and historical windmills.

It has a sandy beach that extends for approximately 5km with clear, warm water.

Protaras is also rich with Greek-Roman history.

Compared to other holiday spots in the country, Protaras is considered to be quieter, making it more suitable for families on vacation.

Since its establishment as a world tourist spot in 1980, thousands of visitors have chosen to holiday there each year.

Visitors can enjoy different water sports activities on the beach and take advantage of the natural beauty of the place.

Thereâs also cave exploring and hiking that can be done.

Historically significant places are well preserved and maintained and include things like chapels and windmills.

Natural caves and preserved nature parks are a must to visit and foodies will love the Cyprusian delicacies which can be found all throughout the town.
