What's the weather like in Protaras in March
March in Protaras, Cyprus is certainly a month of anticipation, as the weather stars to warm up and hoteliers and restaurateurs begin doing restoration work, getting ready for summer season to open its doors next month.
Temperature
Temperatures are on the increase, with a monthly average of 14°C, a couple of degrees warmer than the previous month, with an average high temperature of around 19°C.

As the days stretch out further, the temperatures begin to warm up, including a very warm sea temperature of 17°C, meaning it's entirely possible to head down to Fig Tree Bay and do a spot of swimming now.
Precipitation
Getting out and exploring Protaras and the surrounding area is certainly to be recommended during this very mild and temperate time of year, and you can only expect around 42mm of precipitation throughout the month, meaning exploring on foot won't cause too many problems, or too much need for an umbrella, especially if you're heading to the beautiful Cape Greco National Forest Park at this time of year.

Palm Villa and Apartments are also located on the outskirts of the resort, within easy reach of everything you will need, as well as the local beach.
Bars and Restaurants
More and more restaurants and bars begin to open their bars as March goes on, and the choice expands, which is great news for visitors!
La Cultura del Gusto is regularly voted as one of the best in Protaras, and with good reason. Amazing food served in a modern décor is the order of the day, quite upmarket but certainly something a bit different. Visitors don't tend to find anything to complain about, and often return, which is always the sign of a good establishment.
Of course, you might want to grab some food on the go, and take total advantage of March's mild, sunny weather. In that case, head to Rossos Bakery for a delicious baguette to take with you, out of a range of too many to mention. Grab a pastry for dessert and you're good to go! If you want a sit down option however, the ever popular Mojito Bar & Grill thrills visitors time and time again, and is also often voted as one of the best in Protaras and the surrounding area. Great cocktails and an innovative menu will give you plenty of choice, all in modern, shiny surroundings.
The anticipatory feeling of March hots up as we move into April, with the start of the summer season. If you want to avoid the crowds, but enjoy the certainly very pleasant weather that March has to offer, then you won't be short of things to do and places to go.
Things to do in Protaras in March
March signals the annual Aphrodite Trophy Mountain Bike Marathon, which gathers professionals and amateurs alike, all competing for the number one spot or a personal best time. Held in Larnaca, this is a great event to watch and a good excuse to visit Larnaca and explore a little. The Larnaca Salt Lake is a wonderful thing to see, and if you're into diving then the wreck of MS Zenobia will thrill you.
Closer to Protaras as your base, the Cape Greco National Forest Park comes alive in March, with flowers and greenery being reborn as the weather warms up. You can do all manner of outdoor activities, including exploring sea caves and checking out a variety of weird and wonderful rock formations.
Climbing the 100 steep stone steps to Ayios Elias Church is not only a great workout, but also rewards you with an amazing view from the top, not to mention the beauty of the church itself. Certainly one for the camera, and a good tip is to climb those steps before the temperature soars in the coming months.
