What's the weather like in Praia da Luz in September
Just like nearby resort, Praia de Rocha, Praia da Luz begins to cool down in September, when the summer season comes to a slow close. Whilst it is still possible to enjoy beach days and holiday fun in October, this is the final month of the best weather on offer. As with the earlier months of the season, it is possible to grab some deals at this time of year, particularly towards the end of the month.
Temperature
During this time of the year, temperatures can reach up to 25°C at the hottest point of the day as an average high temperature, which is ideal for enjoying lunch al fresco in one of the resort's many restaurants. Temperatures can drop to a mild 17°C after sunset as an average low temperature, which can get a bit chilly if there is a sea breeze in the air simply remember a light cardigan or jacket for those beach-front nights out. On average, however, temperatures are around 21°C during the day.
Rainfall
Rain, though rare as we are still in summer, begins to be more frequent as the season draws to a slow close. You can expect an average precipitation rate of around 16mm throughout the month, which although minimal is up on the previous month's level, and this falls on around 5 days throughout the month to some degree or another, matching the precipitation experienced in June. Whilst you won't be needing an umbrella to any huge degree, it's worth being aware that a downpour may occur at some point during your holiday.

The average sea temperature is around the 23°C mark, which means you can take part in many water-sports, boat trips, fishing expeditions, and general beach activities before the summer waves goodbye for another year.
