What's the weather like in Praia da Luz in October
Autumn has arrived in Praia da Luz, and in the resorts around the coastline and the cities in Portugal you will see slightly more in the way of rain, but still very mild temperatures throughout the month. October is still a great time to enjoy a holiday in the resort, and there are still many hotels and restaurants open until around the last week of the month, and many last minute deals to be found.
Temperature
You can expect an average temperature of around 19°C, which is still very mild, and the resort will still feel like summer in many ways. The average high temperature can reach a very warm 22°C at the warmer times of the day, and falls to around 15°C as an evening low temperature a cardigan or jacket will be needed at this time, as you will notice a chill in the air as the night progresses, especially closer to the sea.
Sunshine Hours
The sun still shines for a huge 8 hours per day, which proves that although autumn has arrived, the sun doesn't want to leave the Algarve. On the other hand, rainfall is increased quite dramatically from the previous few summer months, especially when you look at the non-existent levels of July.
Rainfall
You can expect around 58mm of precipitation, which affects around 10 days of the month to a certain degree. Despite this increase, you are unlikely to see prolonged downpours, and any rain experienced will leave behind clear skies.
Sea Temperature
If you want a beach day or two, this is still very possible in the resort and the surrounding area. The average sea temperature reaches a mild 21°C, and you will see people enjoying water-based fun for much of the month, and beaches remain quite busy with sun-worshippers until at least the middle of the month.
