What's the weather like in Praia da Luz in February
Whilst still in the midst of winter, you can certainly be assured of a mild weather picture in Praia da Luz during the second month of the year. A little improved from January's cooler temperatures, this means outdoor activities are even more easily enjoyed, which is great news for those wanting to partake in the Algarve's many golfing opportunities on offer.
Temperature
February experiences an average temperature of around 13°C, which can reach up to 16°C on those warmer days certainly pleasant for an outdoor adventure. Evenings are still a little on the cool side however, so if you are heading out into the late part of the afternoon, remember to take a jacket with you, as the temperature will start to fall around 5pm. You can expect an average low temperature of around the 10°C mark, which compared to many other destinations at this time of year, is very respectable and mild indeed.

It might not yet be summer, but the sun still shines in abundance at this time of year, with around 7 hours of sunshine per day on average, which means days seem a little longer than the previous couple of months a sign of rapidly improving weather perhaps.

The downside of the fact it is still winter however is the slightly increased chance of rain, with around 77mm on average throughout the month, which to some degree will affect around 14 days, i.e. nearly half of the month.

If you want to enjoy water-sports and swimming, you would be better off waiting a little while longer yet, with the average sea temperature still hovering at a chilly level, at around 14°C throughout the month. The plus side is that this is the final month of winter and with the arrival of spring comes much better weather on the horizon.

The restaurant is situated half way down a hill which leads to the blue of the ocean, and during the day you will see the sea stretching out before you. Food here is large in portion size, and presentation is fantastic, especially for the low price you will pay.

Alternatively, A Fabrica is a beautiful beachfront restaurant, where you can dine in or out depending on the weather on the day. Snacks and cakes are served during the day, but during the evening you can enjoy a full a la carte menu of many different types of cuisine, including traditional choices.
OndaLuz
OndaLuz is another stylish choice, with a very contemporary feel, and a very large wine menu! You will need to book ahead for this restaurant as it is very popular, which is evident in the number of customers who return back for the many Portuguese and European dishes.

Carnival
One of the highlights of the Praia da Luz events calendar takes place in February - the carnival celebrations. During this time of the year everyone takes to the streets in bright, colourful outfits alongside exciting processions, live music and plenty of food and drink. Although it's mainly the locals who take part in this, tourists and visitors are always encouraged to participate and join in with the fun.

Golf dos Alamos is one of the most popular courses on offer, and this is a good time to head there, before the crowds of the peak season.
