Loul Mountain Fair
The Loul Mountain Fair is one of the most popular events that takes place in December, which is held so people can discover more about the diversity and popular culture of parishes in the area. During this fair, visitors get an insight into local handicrafts, food and Algarve traditions. The quieter time of year is a great time to explore, as we've mentioned, but attending an event like this will allow you to mingle with locals and see some of the more authentic side of the area.
Go Karting Algarve
If you feel the need for a spot of adrenaline, then enjoy racing against friends or family in a speedy competition at the Go Karting Algarve course. The 760-metre course is modelled on the Jacarepagua Formula 1 circuit in Brazil and provides hours of fun for a small price perfect for a cooler day, so simply wrap up warm.
Albufeira Horse Riding
Alternatively, Albufeira is only half an hour away, and you can easily head there on the local bus and explore the town. Albufeira is much like Praia da Luz, in that it closes down in part during the winter months, however it is slightly larger, so there is a little more to see. A stroll along Armacao de Pera Beach is like stepping back in time, and on warmer, dry days you can head off on a horseback riding tour of the area, with Albufeira Riding Centre. The centre offer countryside rides for very little cost, and the kids will love this if you are travelling as a family.
