For something more sophisticated, try Coda. This restaurant was designed by Italian architects and is decorated with artwork created by famous masters. Classical music plays in the dining room throughout the week, with live piano performances held every evening Tuesday to Saturday.
The menus focus on fresh, seasonal products and the contemporary sous vide cooking method, with the a la carte menu featuring innovative choices such as Russian caviar, monkfish cheeks, lamb shank confit and sous vide rabbit leg. This family-style restaurant and shop is located inside a historic building opposite the National Theatre and offers diners the opportunity to buy in the shop whatever is in the restaurant and order in the restaurant whatever is in the shop.
The menu features Italian classics, such as cannellini bean soup, grilled tiger prawns, homemade ravioli, veal ossobuco and steak of the day, complemented by traditional desserts, including ice creams, cheesecake and cheese boards. Things to do in Prague in April
Artel
If you want to pick up a unique souvenir for yourself or some special gifts for friends and family back home, pop into Artel during your holiday in Prague. This brand has several stores one in Platnéská Street, one in Celetná Street in Old Town and one in U Lužickeho semináe in Malá.
Each store specialises in handcrafted Bohemian crystal glassware which you can have custom made with whatever patterns or words you like. If you take a photo along with you, the staff can even sketch the photo onto the glass. All the products for sale here are mouth-blown and hand-engraved by local Czech artisans and are available in the shape of drinking glasses, decanters, bottles, candleholders, bowls and pitchers.
Invisible Exhibition
For a unique cultural experience, consider the Invisible Exhibition. This exhibition allows you to step into the shoes of a blind person to find out just what their daily life is really like. During the 90-minute tour, your group will be led in complete darkness by blind and partially-sighted people who will take you through seven different situations to see how you deal with everyday tasks such as paying for a cup of coffee on a bar and choosing the right seasonings for your meal all without being able to see a thing.
At the end of the tour, you'll be taken to a room full of gadgets used by blind people every day, such as talking scales and a Braille typewriter. The idea behind the exhibition is to bring the worlds with and without sight closer together so that we can better understand each other. Tours take place every 15 minutes Monday to Friday noon-8pm and on weekends and public holidays 10am-8pm.
Petín Hill
Petín Hill is a hill located in the centre of Prague, rising around 130m above the left bank of the Vltava River. Almost entirely covered in parks and recreational spaces, this hill is one of the greenest areas in Prague, making it a great place to spend the day if the weather's fine.
There are loads of things to do here including climbing or riding the funicular to the top for the panoramic views and climbing to the top of the Petín Tower for even better views. For a more relaxed day out, you can also admire the statue of the great Czech romantic poet Karel Hynek Mácha, explore the observatory and wander through the rose garden. Troja Chateau
Art lovers won't want to miss the chance to see the Troja Chateau during their holiday in Prague. Located in an outer suburb in the north of the city, this luxury baroque palace is surrounded by gardens and vineyards which are overflowing with exotic plant life that will be beginning to bloom in April.
Built for the Counts of Sternberg between 1679 and 1691, this palace features architecture inspired by France and Italy, with a striking white and terracotta façade and triangular roofs. One of the highlights of the palace is the staircase which depicts a struggle between the gods of antiquity, the titans and symbolical figures representing day, night and the continents.
