While beaches in some other Spanish resorts may be getting quieter in autumn, this isn't so in Gran Canaria. Things to do in Playa Taurito in October
Fiesta de la Naval
If you're visiting Playa Taurito on the second Saturday of October, don't miss one of the island's most important fiestas, the Fiesta de la Naval (Festival of the Sea) This event features maritime processions to commemorate the victory of the Spanish Armada over the British explorer Sir Francis Drake in 1595. Celebrations are held in most major ports, but the main one is in the capital of Las Palmas. This is just an hour's drive from Playa Taurito and makes a great day trip.
Lago Oasis Water Park
One of Playa Taurito's main attractions is its water park, which is actually one of the biggest in Gran Canaria. The open-air park can be enjoyed all year round, with natural sea water pools to splash around in as well as some adrenaline pumping slides and chutes. Located at the centre of the resort in the Hotel Paradise Lago Taurito, Lago Oasis Water Park is great for families.

A boat trip is a wonderful way to spend a day in Gran Canaria.
