Dia de Canarias
At the end of May, Día de Canarias, or Canary Islands' Day is celebrated all over Gran Canaria. This is a great spectacle to witness if you're visiting the area in May.
Maspalomas
Located on the south west coast of Gran Canaria, Playa Taurito makes a great base for getting out and about and exploring the island. Why not plan a day trip to Maspalomas to see the beautiful natural scenery of the region's sand dunes? Just a 20 minute drive along the coast, the nature reserve is one of the most popular family attractions in Gran Canaria. The dunes comprise of sand blown from 250km away in the Saharan Desert.

Alternatively, Palmitos Park is just a 40 minute bus ride from Playa Taurito and offers guests the chance to experience some of Gran Canaria's wildlife.
