Weather Lowdown

Temperatures in June in Playa Paraiso reach the beautiful, gentle heat of 21ºC (70ºF) perfect for days spent lying in the sun in this small purpose-built resort or exploring the pretty island of Tenerife.

The temperature at this time of year in the resort is often likened to a sunny spring day in Northern Europe with its warm rather than scorching days, average highs this month remain at a comfortable 24ºC (75ºF), and balmy evenings with average lows of 18ºC (64ºF).

The range of temperatures will depend on what part of the month you visit with the average daily temperature raising steadily through the month from 22ºC (72ºF) at the beginning of the month to 24ºC (75ºF) at the end.

This month is also one of the driest in the resort with, on average, no rainfall at all and only a 6% chance of experiencing a cloudy day. Of course, there is always the chance of rain but this month it is only a very promising 2%. There are also more hours in which to enjoy the sunshine during the summer months with an average of 12 daily sunshine hours.

If you're coming to the resort this month looking for sun, sea and relaxation then you'll be happy to hear that the average sea temperatures at this time of year is a lovely 22ºC (72ºF) which makes it the perfect time to explore the clear waters around the resort and the excellent snorkelling it offers.

There is still a good chance of wind this month with a 44% chance of experiencing a windy day but these winds, coming off the African continent, are warm and bring a refreshing breeze to the resort so are unlikely to prevent you soaking up the glorious sunshine on the beach.

Where to Stay

If you're looking for a large elegant resort with everything on your doorstep in June then the Bahia Principe Tenerife with its three swimming pools, five restaurants, 4 bars and even its own nightclub could be the perfect destination. Proud of it Canarian heritage you'll find traditional local food, entertainment and architecture here along with sweeping views over the Atlantic and the neighbouring island of La Gomera.

A little further down the coast in a quiet area of Costa Adeje is the all-inclusive Dream Hotel Villa Tagoro. Built to reflect traditional Canarian architecture and surrounded by beautiful gardens, this pretty all-inclusive resort is very family-friendly with a swimming pool, children's playground, games room and mini golf. There is a buffet restaurant and nightly entertainment to keep the whole family happy.

In neighbouring Callao Salvaje the traditional white-walled, Mediterranean, Blue Sea Callao Garden is an apartment hotel which combines the best of hotel and apartment living. Each unit features either a balcony or terrace, a living area and its own kitchen but room service is also available and there is a restaurant and bar on the premises and a communal pool and sun terrace.

Things to Do

Take a break from lying in the beautiful June sunshine and give yourself an adrenalin boost of water park excitement at Aqualand with its dramatic water slides, super-fast chutes and breath-taking flumes. Just down the coast from Playa Paraiso at Costa Adeje the vast water park has rides to keep everyone happy from the adrenalin pumping Tornado, Super Slalom and Kamikazes to the child-friendly areas of Dragon Land, Forest Land and Crazy Race Junior. For those who just want to chill out in the sun there's even a spa area.

Take a water taxi from Los Gigantes to Masca bay, and spend the afternoon on the beautiful secluded beach set at the base of stunning volcanic cliffs. Don't forget to bring your snorkel as there is plenty to see in the water here with its large boulders hiding anemones, dark moray, grouper, fire worms and more.

Hit the Beach

For fun in the sun and and plenty of activities take a trip down the coast to Playa de Las Vistas in Los Cristianos. The beach is lined by bars, cafes, food stalls and restaurants and every sort of water sport imaginable are available here to get you into the warm Atlantic waters (average sea temperatures in June are 22ºC). Don't worry about bringing a sunbed, everything is available here from sun loungers and umbrellas and even hammocks! There are showers and other beach amenities situated along the length of the beach. But don't worry that all this activity will have left the beach dirty and overused, this is one of the cleanest on the island having been awarded a Blue Flag from the European Environmental Foundation.

For a sophisticated beach experience head down the coast to the exclusive Playa del Duque on the Costa Adeje. With elegant restaurants, chic shops and boutiques and stylish cafes and bars along its promenade, if you don't fancy going for a swim you could spend your time people-watching instead. A Blue Flag winner, everything about this beach says clean and well cared for from its clear waters to well-manicured sand. There are great facilities here but if you intend to shop or eat here don't forget to pack your wallet!

Eating & Drinking Out

If you're looking for some authentic Canarian cuisine then your best bet is to queue with the locals for the delicious seafood and chicken cooked in traditional style at El Cine in Los Cristianos. Hidden away behind the promenade, this restaurant has been here for more than 25 years and is famous amongst those in the know for serving the very freshest seafood caught by local fishermen and using excellent quality local produce.

El Rincón del Arroz, another authentic Spanish restaurant, is also in Los Cristianos. This is slightly more upmarket, although still reasonably priced. Come here to savour delicious Spanish classics like a really well cooked paella bursting with fresh, local ingredients. El Rincón del Arroz also has a fantastic wine cellar so don't forget to ask the friendly owner for some recommendations.

With a large inviting terrace and views over the Atlantic the Bar Terraza Blue is a great place to enjoy a delicious sundown cocktail. Located right at the end of the headland in Playa Paraiso in the El Marques shopping centre, it is a beautiful spot to relax in at the end of the day and it also serves great cocktails.
