What's the weather like in Playa del Ingles in October
Temperature
October once again sees high temperatures in the Spanish beach resort of Playa del Ingles, almost rivalling the height of summer. Visitors can expect an average of 23°C, peaking at 25°C and only dropping to 20°C overnight, so air-conditioned accommodation is preferable at this time of year.
The hottest daytime temperature on record for October is a sweltering 35°C, while the lowest is 15°C at night-time. Temperatures usually fall just 1°C over the course of the month. Sea temperatures remain the warmest of the year at 23°C during October, so it's a great time for water sports.
Rain
After the clear skies of summer, October brings a few clouds in the sky to this southern part of Gran Canaria and it becomes cloudier as the month goes on. Fortunately rainfall remains low. Just 10mm falling over five days means the average holidaymaker is unlikely to see much, if any, precipitation. Throughout October, the most likely types of rain are moderate rain showers, drizzle or light rain, and most commonly towards the end of the month.
Humidity
October has one of the highest humidity levels in Playa del Ingles so strenuous outdoor activities may be a little uncomfortable.
Wind
Wind speeds are likely to be no more than a fresh breeze and will ease up as the month progresses.
Average Sunshine Hours
The number of sunshine hours remains the same as in September, at a pleasant ten hours a day.

Things to do in Playa del Ingles in October
Take advantage of the warm sea temperatures and spend a day at the Dunkerbeck Windsurfing Centre in nearby San Agustin. Gran Canaria has some of the strongest sea winds of all the Canary Islands, so it's an ideal spot for this particular sport. You can book ten hours of lessons or simply rent equipment and head out to tackle the waves yourself. Surfing and bodyboarding is also offered here, with multi-day courses for beginners.
Spend a day or two exploring the historical town of Agüimes, a 19 mile drive northeast of Playa del Ingles. There is so much for visitors to do here. Admire the Parish Church of San Sebastián, one of the island's best examples of neoclassical architecture. Check out the beautiful mountainous scenery of Temisas, including the el Roque Aguayro rock formation and the Canary Islands' largest olive grove.
Then explore the cave dwellings of Cueva Bermeja; see the archaeological remains and native cave drawings at La Montaña de Agüimes; and visit the deep ravine at Guayadeque, where you can dine at restaurants built right into the rock of the mountains. The town's craft workshops and gastronomy will have you wanting to stay even longer.
