What's the weather like in Playa del Ingles in March
Temperature
March marks the beginning of spring in Gran Canaria's popular beach resort of Playa del Ingles. Temperatures start to rise a little and both daytimes and evenings are very pleasant, with an average temperature of 18°C, ranging from 15°C overnight to 21°C during the day.
The lowest recorded temperature in March is 10°C and the evenings can become cool, so you'll need to take your jacket if you're heading to one of the resort's lively bars or restaurants for the night. However, daytime temperatures have been known to hit 30°C at this time of year, so you may well enjoy a good sizzle on the beach too.
Rain
Rainfall drops to the lightest of the year so far, just 10mm over 5 days. After the winter 'rainy season', March is one of the most beautiful times to visit this Spanish holiday destination, as the town is very lush and green, in complete contrast to its barren, semi-desert look after the summer dry spell.
Average Sunshine Hours and Sea Temperature
The number of sunshine hours in March rises to ten hours a day, while the sea temperature stays steady at 19°C.
Weather Hazards
Visitors to Playa del Ingles during this month should be aware there is a risk of dust storms at this time of year. These storms can sometimes travel across from North Africa, causing dangerous lack of visibility and potential discomfort for anyone with asthma or a respiratory condition.
