Temperature
July sees the crowds roll up at Playa del Ingles, taking advantage of the great mid-summer weather. Things really start to heat up in this Gran Canaria town, with average temperatures of 22°C, peaking at around 25°C. Night-time temperatures average at a warm 19°C, so no jackets required if you're heading out to sample the town's lively nightlife.
Playa del Ingles has reached a blistering record daytime high of 41°C in July, while the lowest July temperature on record is just 17°C. Rain

Playa del Ingles Beach for July
Playa del Ingles enjoys almost 1.5 miles of pure white sand, ideal for basking all day and soaking up the summer sun. In the west, you'll find the widest part of the beach and a gently-shelving shoreline. There are plenty of toilets and showers along the beach, as well as small kiosks and huts selling beach equipment and refreshments.
All beachfront establishments are numbered, and the area around beach hut 7 is known as Playa del Ingles's gay beach. Clothing is optional here, so be careful if travelling with children. This part of the beach is easily identifiable by the rainbow flag on the beach hut.
Bars and Restaurants
J's Bar is one of the most popular gay bars in Playa del Ingles. It has two menus: the shots menu and the cocktail menu, so don't expect a sober night here! Ranging from the traditional Sambuca to the 'Strawberry Cheesecake', containing real pieces of biscuit, the drinks here are sure to go down nicely. The bar is located in the Yumbo Shopping Centrum and is open every night.
If pizza and pasta is your preference, head to Costa Italy, which has friendly waiters and free WiFi. Take a seat on its outdoor terrace and enjoy the view over the ocean while you dine al fresco.
Things to do in Playa del Ingles in July
While the weather's warm and dry, head to the beach and try out some scuba diving. Dive Academy Gran Canaria, located a nine mile drive away in Arguineguin, is perfect for experts and complete beginners, being the only diving school on the island with its own private training pool. The centre is 5-star PADI certified and also offers snorkelling and a 'bubble maker' introductory course for children.
If you love shopping, you'll find plenty of souvenir stores to browse on Playa del Ingles's famous 2km-long promenade, which runs behind the main part of the beach. Head into town and you'll find no less than twelve shopping centres, including the Kasbah Centre and the popular Yumbo Shopping Centrum, which offer everything from designer clothes to electronics.
