Playa de Muro, also known as âPlatja de Muroâ, is a hidden beach located almost midway between Alcudia and Câan Picafort on the northern coast of Majorca. This treasure spot offers visitors a perfect mild climate that is not too hot or too cold. The average temperatures during the summer months reach up to 32ºC every summer and fall to 4ºC during the winter months. Playa de Muro is not at any risk of being hit by hurricanes or major storms, so itâs a safe and ideal destination to travel to all year round.
Climate
January: The first month of the year
sees average temperatures of 10ºC. Nights are usually cooler with an average of
temperature in the low teens and daytime temperatures in the mid teens. January
is the coldest and most humid month of the year for Playa de Muro, with the
area receiving only 7 hours of daylight per day during this month. Although
this is the coldest month of the region, the weather
is still considerably warmer in Playa de Muro at this time of the year than the
rest of Europe.
February: Temperatures in the low teens continue to carry the same feel of January, but it is slightly warmer. In cold winters, February sees weather just as cold as in January, with temperatures in the low teens. The average highest temperature during February is 16º, and the average daylight hours rise to 8 hours per day.
March: In March, the temperatures start rising to warmer spring-like conditions. Daylight hours increase to 9 hours of sunlight per day. The average humidity is 77 percent, however, March is one of the driest months of the year seeing an average of 20 mm of rain per month. The average high temperature is 18ºC, and the lowest average temperature is 5ºC for this month.
April: The weather starts to warm up for the summer months in April, with average high temperatures in the low twenties and an average low temperature of 8ºC. Rainfall increases significantly in the month of April to 35mm of rain per month, with the average daylight hours rising to 10 hours of daylight per day.
May-August: Temperatures from May through August remain constant and considerably warm with an average of 12 hours of daylight per day for these four months. They are the warmest and driest months of the year in Playa de Muro, with only 3 to 5 days of rainfall per month. The average high temperatures vary from the high twenties to the low thirties, and the average low temperatures are in the high teens.
September: Temperatures start getting cooler at this time of the year with average high temperatures in the high twenties and average low temperatures in the mid teens. September sees an average humidity of 76 percent, with 56 mm of rain on averageâ"a significant improvement from the dry months of May through August.
October: This month has an average temperature of 19ºC and 79 percent humidity. Rainfall starts to become more prominent, and it is not so dry. Daylight hours start to decrease for the winter months, and Playa de Muro sees an average of 8 hours of daylight per day.
November- December: Much like the following month of January, November and December are cold with average low temperatures between 4ºC and 8ºC. The highest average temperatures are found in the mid teens, which allow visitors to still enjoy the beach. In contrast with the weather in the rest of Spain and Europe, Playa de Muro has warmer temperatures, which offer a pleasant escape for visitors coming from colder areas of Europe during the winter months.
Dry season
Although Playa de Muro is located on an island, it sees very little of a tropical type of climate, in fact, the weather is very similar to that of Spain. The driest months of the year are March, May, June, July and August, with only an average of 3 to 5 days of rainfall per month. These months see an average of 12 hours of daylight per day, with June and July experiencing an average of 13 hours of daylight per day.
May through to August are the hottest months of the year. The humidity levels vary between 69 percent to 72 percent regardless of the hot climate and little rainfall. As a coastal area, the humidity levels stay high due to the proximity to the sea. Even through the dry months, Playa de Muro experiences precipitation and does not go through draughts in the summer months.
Rainy Season
September through to November sees the most rainfall in Playa de Muro. An average of 11 days of rain and 59mm of rainfall per month are the numbers that show for the rainy season in Playa de Muro. These months indicate high humidity of 80 percent average humidity. The climate is mild at this time of the year but decreases continually until January when the lowest temperatures of the year are reached.
The rainy season in Playa de Muro marks the decrease of
