Found in the west of Playa Blanca, Playa Flamingo is a small golden bay lined by several shops, bars and restaurants. Less popular than the other beaches at Playa Blanca, Playa Flamingo is the ideal place to work on your tan whilst enjoying some peace and quiet.

Popular among locals and visitors alike, La Petite Marmite is the ideal place for families and couples who want to indulge in contemporary cuisine. Here you'll find a large menu full of European specialities, such as lasagne, sweet and savoury crepes, chicken casserole and grilled steaks. As well as the a la carte menu, La Petite Marmite also offers a set menu which is top value for money. If you've left room for dessert, you'll find a great selection of ice creams, cakes, tarts and puddings to choose from.

Cervantes is one of the best places to go in Playa Blanca for an excellent steak. Highly recommended by tourists and locals alike, this eatery serves a variety of choice cuts with several different sauces, as well as a discounted house special which changes every day. In order to cater for everyone, Cervantes also serves fish, pasta and vegetarian dishes, as well as a varied children's menu.

Marea is another lively hotspot, popular with the older crowd who want to listen to good music and enjoy a few drinks. As well as the large dance floor, Marea also offers plenty of relaxation zones with comfortable furniture spread throughout the venue.

The largest Irish bar in Playa Blanca, Irish Anvil Bar has something to offer everyone. Here you'll find live entertainment seven nights a week from 10pm until midnight, as well as a huge selection of reasonably priced drinks to choose from. Sports fans will be pleased to hear that there are four large plasma screens and five regular screens throughout the bar capable of showing up to four different matches at the same time.

Things to do in Playa Blanca in July

If you've ever wanted to learn how to surf, Kaboti Surf Camp is the place to go. This Playa Blanca-based surfing school offers a series of courses and sessions suitable for everyone from first timers who want to know the basics to professional surfers who want to improve. Beginners and intermediate surfers can choose from one-, three- and five-day courses, all of which include several hours of lessons, wetsuit, surfboard, transport and lunch. Personal one-on-one lessons are also available for those who would rather learn privately.

There are plenty of other different water sports to try out while you are in Playa Blanca. Jet skiingsnorkelling and scuba diving are all extremely popular and well serviced.
