What's the Weather Like in Phuket in October

Rain

By October and towards the end of the month the monsoon rains are easing but there will still be heavy downpours with average rainfall of 280mm falling over 23 days. This is down from the September high of 400mm but still more than the dry season that starts in December that averages 30mm to 40mm each month.

The heavy rains will end giving you sunny humid days that are excellent for fishing as the rain makes the fish come out of hiding. By the end of the month the rain will start to lessen with November expecting an average of 200mm.

Temperature

Temperatures remain warm here all year round to Phuket's closeness to the equator. Average temperatures this month are around 28°C that sits between the average high/low temperatures of 24°C and 31°C. The average temperature will cool slightly towards the end of the month with November and December expecting 27°C.

Humidity

The average humidity is the highest this month at 90% due to the rain falling on more days. This will ease slightly as the year comes to an end and the dry season begins with around 75% humidity the highest seen. Air conditioned locations are popular this month with many attractions indoors.

Sunshine

Clouds and overcast weather caused by the monsoon conditions sees the average sunshine at its lowest at the end of the monsoon season at just an average of 7 hours per day. The high average of 9 hours a day is seen in the dry season and this will start to pick up towards the end of November and into December.

Sea Temperature

The average sea temperature is 29°C and stable during the monsoon months and will drop to its lowest of 28°C in December. The monsoon will still be influencing beach conditions and some will be closed due to the dangerous swimming and surfing conditions.

Fog

Foggy days are on the increase from this month on towards the highs seen in March. Expect 2 foggy days this month, up from 1 day last month.
