Paphos is a coastal city in the south-west of Cyprus, and is the capital of the Paphos district, and houses Paphos International Airport, which is the second biggest airport on Cyprus. The economy of Paphos is strongly dependent on tourism and has four main resorts: Kato Paphos, Coral Bay, Latchi, and Aphrodite Hills. The city is particularly well-served by reliably lovely weather (for much of the year) and a large number of historic sites and attractions, arts and sports making it a popular holiday destination.

Paphos contains a large number of good restaurants, although there are also some variable ones, so it is important to choose wisely. Those after taverns and Cypriot and/or Greek cuisine are especially well-catered for, while there are also many Italian, European and international restaurants that are consistently highly-rated. The output of Asian restaurants is variable - there are some good Japanese restaurants for example, but not many reliable Thai restaurants.

Those after a British-style experience are also well-covered, as there are many restaurants that sell British-style pub food and English breakfasts of high quality at reasonable prices, and some offer wi-fi and broadcasts of sporting events. There are also some good grill outlets and also some good snack bars, for those who would rather have just a quick and light bite to eat while enjoying the surroundings.

Cypriot cuisine

Many restaurants offer great Greek cuisine, which is very similar to Cypriot cuisine, while there are also some good outlets that focus on locally-produced food.
