Olu Deniz is a small village resort found on the southwestern coast of Turkey, which also goes by the name of 'Dead Sea' and 'Blue Lagoon'. Because of its stunning turquoise waters and golden sand it has become one of the most photographed and popular beaches in the world.
There's a diverse range of accommodation to be found in Olu Deniz, from luxury hotel complexes to smaller self-catering budget apartments and B&Bs. Many of the hotels are also close to popular tourist sites including the Blue Lagoon, Babadag Mountain and Butterfly Valley.
If you're travelling to Olu Deniz by plane, the closest airport is Dalaman Airport, which is around 60km away and takes a total of just over an hour to drive by car.

The Montebello Beach Resort is a popular modern three-star hotel found just over 600 metres away from the Blue Lagoon and 300m from the centre of Olu Deniz. There are a wide range of facilities to take part in here including a swimming pool, a kids club and a Turkish bath spa. Or why not try the recently refurbished Turk Hotel located in the central district of Olu Deniz. There are a number of clean and spacious rooms on offer with splashes of vibrant colour to create a modern twist and make your stay even more enjoyable.
On the other hand there's the Vento Boutique Hotel situated in the Hisaronu area and can be found hiding away in a flourishing garden. This boutique hotel is located only a short walk away from the main shopping area and is only a mile away from Olu Deniz Beach. Or why not stay at Leytur Hotel which is within close proximity to all the main tourist hot spots including the Blue Lagoon, Hisaronu Village and Ovacik Village.
Self-catering
Self-catering is a great way to cut back on the costs. There are a wide range of self-catering apartments found in the area from luxurious apartments to low budget hotels.
Symbola Hotel can be found hidden among pine forests in Olu Deniz. This charming hotel offers rooms with a private terrace boasting breathtaking views over the Mediterranean Sea below. Each room includes a kitchenette and there are plenty of relaxing facilities on site including a hot tub, steam bath and two pools. If you're looking for somewhere a bit more modern the Orka Gardens Apartments offers spacious and clean apartments with air conditioning and fully equipped kitchens. On site there's also an outdoor swimming pool, as well as a children's pool and the stunning Olu Deniz Beach is only 3.5km away.
Tayfun Apart Hotel offers well-designed air-conditioned apartments, complete with stoves, refrigerators and electric kettles. If you want to spend the day doing activities the Blue Lagoon is only a couple of miles away and the local bars and cafes are only found 500 metres away. Whilst you could always stay at the California Apart Hotel found at the foot of Babadag Mountain. On site you can find an attractive garden as well as a swimming pool and barbecue area. All inclusive
There are many all-inclusive hotels to be found in Olu Deniz. These hotels tend to be more expensive but they usually feature a large range of activities and facilities, so you can sit back and relax knowing everything is paid for.
LykiaWorld Olu Deniz is an enormous resort offering very high standards in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. In total there are a staggering 19 swimming pools, 19 tennis courts, a 22,000 square metre Children's Paradise Complex, and for the parents there are 14 bars to choose from.
NOA Hotels OluDeniz Resort is another all inclusive resort hotel perfect for families as there's daily evening entertainment including an animation team, a mini kids club and organized discos on offer. However, if you just want to sit back and relax there's also a Turkish bath with a sauna and a fitness gym.
The Montebello Resort offers three-star accommodation and undertook a full refurbishment in 2012 making it a modern and stylish hotel today. On site you will find two swimming pools, waterslides, a restaurant, a Turkish bath and for the children there's a hotel-run kids' club running through the summer months from July to September.
On the beach
If you're thinking of staying in Olu Deniz it's a great idea to pick a hotel near the beach as Olu Deniz's Blue Lagoon is to good to be missed!
Liberty Hotels (Lykia World) is an enormous hotel complex located on the seafront of Olu Deniz. This resort has its own 750-metre-long private beach, a 3-hole golf course, spa centre and not forgetting a staggering 19 swimming pools to choose from. On the other hand if you would rather spend your holiday in smaller and quieter accommodation why not try the Tonoz Beach Hotel which is found just 50 metres away from Belcekiz beach.
Another option to try is the cosy and stylish Monta Verde Hotel & Villas located in Ovacik Village. If you're not a fan of the humid heat you may find this hotel is just right for you as it is situated in the pine-covered mountains, which create a clean, fresh mountain breeze. Or if this isn't enough to take your fancy why not stay at the Jade Residence located just 50 metres away from Olu Deniz Beach, surrounded by a thriving tropical garden. Each room comes with air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi and on site there's an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. This is the perfect hotel for a relaxing getaway.
Top end
There are a variety of luxurious four-star and five-star hotel complexes ideal for both families and couples found in Olu Deniz.
Why not stay at the luxurious five-star Belcekiz Beach Hotel, which offers a whole host of activities including tennis courts, a fitness centre, table tennis and a Turkish steam bath. So this place is perfect if you just want a relaxing getaway or somewhere to entertain the children. However, if you would rather stay in a more traditional Fethiye stone house then look no further than the Oyster Residences which provide relaxing and comfortable rooms and some even come with a private furnished terrace.
On the other hand if you are looking for somewhere that supplies lots of facilities head to the four-star Club Orka Hotel & Villas. You will be able to choose from a gym, steam room, Turkish bath, pool table, outdoor whirlpool and two swimming pools. But if this doesn't take your fancy try Hotel Greenland, which can be found perched on the hillside overlooking the pine-covered mountains in the distance. Choose from two spacious pools or wander round the beautiful natural gardens close by. The five-star Belcekiz Beach Hotel can be found situated along the beach front of Olu Deniz and is only 14km away from the nearby Fethiye. Guests can enjoy a choice of a Turkish bath or steam bath, whilst if you want to keep fit and healthy have a go at tennis or head to the fitness centre on site. A cheaper option would be Tonoz Beach Hotel, which opened its doors only in 2006. This modern and comfortable hotel can be found right next to a traditional Turkish bath and spa, which is a popular attraction in Olu Deniz.
Monta Verde Hotel & Villas are situated in Ovacik Village and is only 3.5km away from the Blue Lagoon and 7km from Fethiye city centre. Also, if you don't mind staying in a very large complex then you must look into Lykia World which offers its own private sandy beach, 19 swimming pools, outdoor tennis courts, a mini golf course and the hotel also runs PADI diving courses. Whilst if you would rather stay somewhere a bit smaller head to the Sea Breeze Hotel and Apartments, found just a short drive away from the centre of Olu Deniz. Each stylish apartment comes with air conditioning, a flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Whilst if you want to spend the day by the pool there's an outdoor pool with a children's section on site.
Romantic retreats
