What's the weather like in Olu Deniz in March

Temperature

The weather begins to warm up steadily during March in Olu Deniz, as spring arrives in the small Turkish village near the famous azure lagoon. With an average temperature of 9°C, one can expect March to be much warmer than the winter months in Olu Deniz. Still, this month is out of the main tourist season and prices are very low during this time of the year.

Average Sea Temperature

Visitors will have the beaches to themselves, if they are comfortable swimming in the sea with an average water temperature of 15°C. The water is still chilly for casual swimmers, but at least the outside average temperatures are more pleasant with possible lows of 4°C and highs of 14°C. If one choose to go for a swim it is best to do so during noon. The temperature rises steadily during the month, so visiting at the end of March can be quite different than when one visits at the beginning, with a difference of around 2 degrees expected on average.

Average Sunshine Hours

Olu Deniz enjoys 9 full hours of sunshine during the first month of spring.

Rain

This happens despite the 9 days of rainfall expected during this time of the year, so visitors will have plenty of time to explore the surrounding areas and go on tours.

Snow

Snow usually only falls on the mountain peaks surrounding the village and only an average of 2 days of snowfall is expected during March. Hiking on mount Babadag is a splendid idea during this season, since wild herbs and flowers will start to bloom at the end of the month. The mountain peak might still be inaccessible due to fog and snow.

Humidity

The average humidity levels drop significantly, now that winter is over, and reach around 70%. It is still important to pack warm clothes, because it can be quite windy and even cold sometimes during the evenings and nights.
