What's the weather like in Ocho Rios in October
Rainfall
October is the wettest month of the year, experiencing an average 17 rain days and 171 mm average rainfall. If you were planning on visiting Ocho Rios for a day or two, there is a possibility that it might rain the entire time you are there. However, if you were planning on being in the resort for a week or two, it is highly likely that you will have quite a few days of sunshine with spouts of rain in between (so long as you don't mind being limited to indoor activities for a day or two).
Despite the rainfall, the air temperature is still sufficiently warm enough to allow you to swim during rain showers, should you choose to. The sea has an average temperature of 29°C, meaning that on some days (especially when there is rain), the sea most probably will be warmer than the average air temperature.
Temperature
For the most part, average daily temperatures are fairly consistent at 29°C. Exceptions to this are during the first 10 days of the month, where there are a couple of days with temperatures averaging at 28°C. Peaks of 31°C are reached but October is the last month of the year to have average temperatures reaching 29°C, the following month (November) sees temperatures slightly reduced along with lesser rainfall. The best time to visit Ocho Rios, would be towards the end of the month. Latter days in the month can expect less rain and more sunshine as the wet season draws to a close.
Sunshine Hours
An average 9 hours of sunshine hours, combined with a 34% chance of a sunny day gives you a good opportunity to do some exploring, and also work on your tan when the sun shows his face. A relatively high (40%) chance of rain is expected, and a chance of being a cloudy day is at 12%.
Wind
A meagre 12% chance of a windy day, means most likely there will not be many opportunities to enjoy a nice ocean breeze, offering you some cooling.
