What's the weather like in Ocho Rios in November

November sees a significant decrease in average rainfall as compared to the previous month of October. However, it also has the least average daily sunshine hours for the year at 7 per day.

Temperature

The benefits of having fewer sunshine hours as compared to previous months, is there is a significant drop in the average temperature, expected to be 27°C for the month with dips to 24°C the coolest it has been in months. The lower temperature will allow a slightly more bearable air temperature when you are not swimming or inside an air conditioned room.

Daily temperature averages vary between 29°C to 27°C during the month. On the whole, temperatures reduce slightly as the month progresses, signifying the reappearance of winter. As Ocho Rios is located so close to the equator, there are minimal temperature differences throughout the year, however, a 1°C or 2°C difference separates the summer and winter months. In this instance, you could consider November to be autumn in the traditional sense.

Rainfall

As should be expected at any time of year, the odd passing thunderstorm might occur during the 97mm of average rainfall, divided among an average 11 rainy days through the month.

Clouds and Sunshine Hours

A rather low 8% chance of a cloudy day, and relatively high 53% chance of a sunny day, presents a great opportunity for visitors to spend time outside, either relaxing at the beach, by the pool or taking part in one of the many water activities on offer in Ocho Rios

Sea Temperature

Average sea temperatures of 29°C still allows beach and sea goers to spend their day commuting the several steps between their sun bed or towel, and the beckoning crystal clear waters of the Caribbean.

Wind

A low 9% chance of a windy day, makes November an ideal time to do some snorkelling or perhaps scuba diving. Be sure to check the weather forecast before making a booking/reservation with a tour or dive group, just in case (although quite late in the season) a hurricane is nearby or is expected to affect the resort.

A short trip from town, you'll discover Steer Town Beach, soft white sand fringed with trees and shrubs. The beach feels relatively undeveloped, feeling more secluded as compared to the beaches in the main strip. In the area you will find a few restaurant and bar options, and there are also public restrooms. There are umbrellas and chairs for use which will come in handy at this time of year be it for shade or to keep you dry from the rain.

Bars and Restaurants

Providing a selection of Jamaican, home-style dishes, Miss T's Kitchen is a stone's throw from the centre of Ocho Rios. Here you will find many Jamaican food favourites, such as; Jerk, goat curry and seafood. The restaurant also provides vegan options and catering for events.

Inside The Fisherman's Point resort, you'll find Bottles & Chimney Bar & Restaurant. A perfect spot to take that special someone, the ambience and spectacular view of the beach is complemented by a tasty selection of food and drink. A handy tip: try not to go when a cruise ship is in port, as it may be hard to get a table and food service may be a little slower.
