Virgin Holidays has launched ‘Give Me a Break’, an interactive TV travel show featuring four TV and stage favourites including award-winning comic Shappi Khorsandi, ‘Snog, Marry, Avoid?’ presenter Ellie Taylor and hilarious stand up Justin Moorhouse. The programme will air exclusively online during October.
‘Give Me a Break’ will see the rib tickling explorers sent off to secret destinations for a Virgin Holiday – albeit one with a twist. Kicking off with Shappi journeying to South Africa, all of the participants will follow itineraries decided entirely by an audience watching at home, in real time, via the Virgin Holidays Facebook and Twitter feeds, and a dedicated website – www.GMAB.co.uk. From sunrise to sunset they will be at the mercy of their viewers’ imaginations with the audience in control of where they go, what they do – even what they eat or wear. Fans will see them journey from one extreme to another on their adventures…from going face-to-face with indigenous wild animals, riding a Segway across an exotic vineyard, lunching with a cruise ship captain or following in the footsteps of the stars. Each trip trips will culminate in a 20 minute show where the audience will be able to see how their participation has shaped their holidays, and how they ‘unleashed their mojo’.
Everyone who contributes to the holidays by suggesting activities will get the chance to get their own mojo back on their own Virgin Holiday, by winning a trip to the same destinations.
Shappi comments: “I’m so excited about my involvement in ‘Give Me a Break’. I love seeing new places and doing new things on holiday – which as a first time visitor to South Africa certainly won’t be a problem. And waking up each morning not knowing what I am going to do will be really liberating”.
“It’ll be a lot of fun putting my mojo in hands of the Virgin Holidays fans. All I can say is ‘be gentle with me’!”
Ellie Taylor says: “Give Me A Break’ is going to be a real adventure. I hope to meet some great local characters on my travels and I trust the Virgin Holidays fans to think of some fun activities for me and my mojo. A holiday should be all about seeing new things, so I hope to get the chance to delve in culturally. Particularly the local customs involving cocktails.”
And speaking about his participation, Mancunian funnyman Justin Moorhouse commented: “A holiday? For free? And all I have to do is what you tell me? Sign me up. I’m from the North West and at this time of year anything that gets me out of Manchester will unleash my mojo!”
‘Give Me a Break’ forms the latest part of the Virgin Holidays ‘Unleash Your Mojo’ campaign, designed to show that on a Virgin Holiday, you get back to the very best version of yourself.
Sounds good to us…
