With the arrival of spring comes one of the most highly anticipated events of the year in Malaga, Costa del Sol – the Festival de Málaga Cine Español, which takes place from 21-29 March 2014.
The festival, which celebrates its 17th year this year, sees the streets of Malaga become a hub of activity, with major film events taking place across the city. The Costa del Sol, a supremely popular holiday destination, is transformed into a fantastic film set.
In between film showings, soak up some rays – the weather in March in Malaga is reliably warm and sunny, with an average temperature of 15°C and possible highs of 20°C – not to mention a none too shoddy 10 hours of sunshine. Sunny days and a nice cool sea breeze makes wandering along Malaga’s attractive beaches a must. Then, why not stop off for a pit-stop and try a local delicacy of delicious small fried fish, known locally as pescaíto frito – washed down with fruity sangria, of course.
Keen movie buffs will lap up the wide variety of films on offer, throughout the festival you can expect to catch compelling feature, unforgettable short films and fascinating documentaries.
But it’s not all about the big screen, Malaga is a brilliant place to go on holiday – especially if you’re a golf-lover – or just if you’re in the mood for great food, beautiful scenery, and of course…plenty of sunshine. To check out Malaga’s 14-day weather forecast, click here.
