Met Office forecasters are predicting a cool, cloudy start but a mainly dry day on Sunday for the London Marathon.
There should be good, sunny breaks through the cloud throughout the morning and after an initially cool start, temperatures are expected to rise to around 15 or 16 Celsius by mid-afternoon. Although it will become increasingly cloudy through the afternoon there is little chance of rain over London and winds will be light and north-westerly throughout the day.
The latest forecast, information about the course and past weather can be found online via the Met Office Events pages.
This settled weather type is set to continue until Wednesday with most parts of the UK seeing good spells of sunshine at times throughout the period. Although it is too soon to give any detail for the weather over Easter weekend, early indications are suggesting that the weather will change to unsettled conditions, generally cloudy with showers or longer periods of rain likely to affect many areas through this period, though with some drier and brighter interludes too.
