In mid-August visitors can attend the West of England Steam Rally, which is a large festival with more than 200 steam engines, crafts and fairground organs, and it takes place in St Agnes, about 11 miles from Newquay.

Nearer the end of the month is Cornwall Folk Festival, which takes place in Wadebridge. The festival has a mix of folk music, dancing and street entertainment, and it has its root from some 40 years ago.

In addition to this is the Bude Jazz Festival, which is hosted in late August and spills over into September. It's an eight-day festival with over 200 jazz-related events including concerts, and is considered one of England's top jazz festivals.
