The topography is mountainess as Neos Marmaras is located amphitheatrically on a three hill mountain cluster which is known as the Dragontelis of Itamos, the largest mountain region of Sithonia.  The mountains reach peak altitudes of 811 metres.  The area is characterised by a coastline of pine trees approaching a 20km stretch of beautiful beach.  The beach has been given the green flag status.

The summer weather is affected by etesian winds which come from the north and west Aegean.  The winds are stronger in the afternoon and die down at night and can be a welcome relief during hot temperatures.

The highest recorded temperature in recent times was 440C in the month of July and the lowest recorded temperature in recent times was -100C in the months of December / February.

The culture here is of bars, clubs and restaurants.  There are modern hotels with excellent facilities.  There are plenty of activities to do such as golf, fishing, surfing, along with plenty to see such as exhibitions and an annual festival called âMemories from the Old Homelandâ.
