What's the weather like in Naples in April
Whilst you might need to remember your umbrella if you're exploring everything Naples has to offer during the month of April, you should also be aware that sunshine is certainly on the increase!

The average April temperature is a mild 14°C, which can hit a very pleasant 18°C as an average high, before falling to around 9°C as the average low temperature. A jacket is still required for evenings in April as you get out and about around Naples, yet a little less so than previously as spring takes hold.

The Mediterranean is warming up slightly as summer approaches, with an average water temperature of around 16°C, meaning beach time is just around the corner.

Not everyone wants to be eating pasta and pizza every day during their visit to Naples, and in that case you're well catered for in terms of different types of cuisine. Decumano 31 is a very popular fast food outlet, offering different types of snacks, such as milk croquettes or chicken croquettes, as two examples. Located in the historic section, down an alleyway, this is one worth finding.

Juicy Lucy Pub and Grill is another popular choice for something a little different, offering huge portions and massive burgers for those who like that kind of thing! This is quite an Americanised restaurant, but is a good change for those seeking something different, with domestic and foreign beers on offer.

If you fancy some sushi however, then 'O Sushi is for you. This is regularly voted as one of the best Japanese restaurants in Naples, out of many, and offers a huge range of dishes, including non-sushi choices too.
Things to do in Naples in April
May of the Monuments
If you are visiting Naples during the last weekend of April, even into May, then you should make sure you experience Maggio dei Monumenti, or May of the Monuments. This is a month-long celebration of Naples' artistic and architectural history and heritage, and you will find exhibitions, concerts and performances all over the city. This is a great way to learn more about the city and what makes it tick.
Mount Vesuvius
Of course, much of Naples' history belongs to the looming volcano in the distance, and despite the fact you will see an imposing, misty view from most parts of the city, there is nothing better than getting up close and personal with the mighty Mount Vesuvius. This is the only active volcano on mainland Europe, but is perhaps most famous for the catastrophic destruction of Pompeii back in 79AD. You can get a guided tour to the volcano, or you can head there on your own journey, however a trip is probably the best way and least stressful. Your bus will drive up the tarmac road to the volcano, before dropping you off to hike your way to the top; this isn't a particularly over-strenuous task, but do watch out for rocks in your path. The view from the top is simply stunning, proving that a trip here is a must do when you visit Naples.
Pompeii
If you want to see the destruction which the famous volcano caused, then head to Pompeii, around half an hour away from Naples by train. You can of course get a guided tour from the city, but the train is also easy to navigate. Pompeii is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, forever immortalised in history and stilled by the huge eruption in 79AD, when the former Roman city was buried under 4-6m of ash. You can still see the ruins of many different parts of the city, which is now a ghost town, including The Temple of Jupiter.
Underground Naples
Aside from natural disasters, Naples has much history below the surface too, and a good way to get right to the heart of it is by taking a guided tour, such as those offered by Underground Naples. You might not be aware, but beneath the streets you will find ancient tunnels and cavities, many of which house ruins dating back to the Roman and Bourbon periods, and this is a fantastic way to see the hidden history of the city.
