What's the weather like in Mykonos in October
October has arrived and the weather is cooling down and the rainfall is increasing as Mykonos prepares for winter.
Temperature
The Average temperature is still in the high teens at 19°C with the average high/low temperatures of 15°C and 22°C. The occasional day can still head to the mid to high 20s and a day by the beach can be enjoyed. The water is warm enough for swimming or partaking in other water sports making this your last chance of the year.
Rain
Average rainfall is increasing and is now up to 167mm falling over 8 days. The chance of rain is still low at 10% but it is getting much heavier when it does fall. Rainfall will start to increase towards the end of the month to the November high of 170mm.

Sunshine hours have dropped off again and now stand at 9 hours but you have a better than 50% chance of a sunny day. The winter low is around 6 hours of sunshine in December which is 50% less than the height of summer. Chances of a cloudy day are 30% so you can still have a warm and sunny holiday this time of year.

In October the sea temperature has dropped to 22°C so it is still warm enough for swimming and water sports.

Mykonos Beach for October
This is the latest month you would want to be swimming and surfing in Mykonos as the colder weather is on its way and the sea temperature is cooling down. If you are after scuba diving you need to visit Kalafati Dive Centre, Lia Beach or Paradise Beach. Lia Beach, 14 km from Chora, is also great for snorkelling around the rocks and is a pretty destination for a relaxing day at the beach on the sun beds and loungers. There are eateries and bars nearby for meals and snacks. This is a quieter beach by Mykonos standards and great for family fun in the water. At Paradise Beach there is a camping area behind the beach with a swimming pool, bar and restaurant.
On the north side of the island from Ano Mera you will find Mersini Beach near Fokos Beach. Mersini is a quiet and secluded beach best reached by boat. This is an ideal place to relax and sunbathe after a peaceful swim in the blue waters of the Aegean.
Fokos Beach is a nudist beach reached from Ano Mera and there is no development here so you will need to take your own sun shade with you. It is just past the artificial Marathi Lake that provides fresh water for the island.
Bars and Restaurants
To Neon is a great place to go if you have a sweet tooth as they offer lovely pastries and sweets. It is located on Agio Gerasimou in Chora.
For a fantastic fusion of Greek and French cuisine go to Chez Maria in Kalogera Street Chora. The dress code is social casual, this is the perfect place to meet new friends and eat fantastic food.
At Eva's Garden you will find quality traditional Greek favourites like Spanokopita, Tzatziki and fresh seafood dishes. Located in Goumenio Square of Kalogera Street this is worth seeking out for its romantic atmosphere and intimate Greek dining style.
Andreas and Maria is open from February to November and is located in the Glastros area. A grill restaurant serving excellent wood-fired pizzas and grilled meats. Daily specials are a selection of Greek delights. All food is fresh, wellmade and reasonably priced. Accompany your meal with an ice cold beer or glass or refreshing wine.
Things to do in Mykonos in October

The Kalafati Dive Centre operates from Kalafati Beach and takes you diving on ship wrecks such as the Peloponnesos that sank in 1926 and the Anna II that sank in 1995. You can also take a trip to Delos and Rhenia islands that are nearby.
