What's the weather like in Mykonos in June
Summer has arrived and you are rewarded with fine warm sunny days as the weather heads towards the hottest months of July and August.
Temperature
The average temperature has risen to a pleasant 23°C with the average high/low temperatures of a pleasant low of 18°C and a warm to hot high of 27°C. Sunny days are long and dry just the thing for swimming at the beaches and enjoying the many water sports on offer. You will need to pack sun-cream and stay hydrated when out in the sun.
Rainfall
Average rainfall has dropped to the annual driest point of just 15mm falling on a mere 3 days. The chance of a wet day has dropped to a low of 2% and it will be a few months before the rain comes back. The chance of a cloudy or overcast day is also a low of 6%.
Sunshine Hours
Sunshine hours have also increased again this month to 13 hours each day. Before the end of summer they will reach up to 14 hours, perfect for swimming and exploring the island. The chance of a sunny day is a high 80% so the likelihood of a wet day this month is scarce.
Wind
The chance of a windy day, though is at 60% due to the onshore Miltimi Wind.
Sea Temperature
In June the sea temperature is a getting to a pleasant 22°C before the high of 24°C next month. Swimming is a great option for the middle of the day when it is its hottest but the rest of the day is ideal for other water sports such as scuba diving and wind surfing.
Mykonos Hotels for June

Most rooms feature a balcony or terrace and all rooms are air conditioned with TVs, private bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities. The Front Desk is able to hire you a car or bike, make reservations for tours around the island and is open 24 hours a day. You can enjoy a buffet breakfast from 8am to 12 noon, food services are available from 1pm to 1am and the Pool Bar is open from 1pm to 10pm. The swimming pool is open from 8am to 1am.
Nearby is the Little Rochari that opened in 2004 offering you the same services and friendly atmosphere as Rochari but on a smaller scale.
Mykonos Beaches for June
Beaches in Mykonos can be organised or non-organised, secluded, popular or nudist. The organised beaches have sports and water games and are very popular with the young people. If you want a family friendly beach try a smaller beach in a quiet cove.
Agios Ioannis Beach was made famous in the movie Shirley Valentine and is in 2 parts separated by a rocky stretch. This beach is good for the kids as it is shallow on the beach front. One side has sun beds and lounges and the summer breeze can be a bit strong here on some days.
Paraga Beach is one of the party beaches where you can get to know other people on holidays. The music comes from the beach bar and can bet loud as the afternoon and evening approach. Sun beds and lounges for rent at this pretty setting with lots of accommodation and eateries nearby.
Bars and Restaurants
Bakalo Greek Eatery is open every day from 7pm to 1:30am and is located in an 18th century Mykonian house. In the Lakka neighbourhood this eatery serves traditional family food in a family style setting. Choose from a large variety of food from eggplant salad, yoghurt and cucumber salad, Mykonian salad and mains starring lamb and fresh seafood. Try traditional moussaka, grilled squid and a selection of desserts starring pastries and mousse.
The Fato a mano cafe restaurant is located in Meletopolous Square and offers a variety of food from breakfast to dinner from 10am to 2am. A great selection of fresh and seasonal vegetables and fresh seafood awaits as well as pasta and Greek favourites.
Things to do in Mykonos in June

No need to have any previous experience as they will show you what you need to do. Kayak to a beautiful beach then snorkel and marvel at the undersea wonders. Visit the wreck of Anna II or check out the reefs off Kalo Livada, Lia Bay and Agios Anna. For the beginner you can try scuba diving as well as get accreditation for open water diving. Travel to Kalafakiona Reef and explore ancient Greece from underwater. Find ancient artefacts and come face to face with the marine life including barracuda and many smaller fish.
