What's the weather like in Mojacar in September?

Although the peak summer months have technically passed, September holds a lot of potential for being the best time of year to visit Mojacar especially for young couples or those without children. This is because most of the European tourists who visit here will stay away during this month, as kids go back to school. It's not as though the summer is fully over, either average daily temperatures of 23°C will definitely make the holiday a great one!

Temperature & Sunshine Hours

The daily highs can actually go up to 26°C, which is great news particularly when matched with the fact that the lows only fall as far as 19°C. There's plenty of potential for tanning here, and with 10 hours of sunshine on average every day, that means plenty of time to achieve it too.

Rain

You won't need to watch the forecast too closely, either: only an average of 11mm of rain is expected during the month, taking around five days to fall. That means every shower you run into is only going to be a very short one. Don't worry too much about making sure you have your wet weather gear packed!

Sea Temperature

You are probably also keen to find out what it will be like to swim in the sea at this time of year. The amazing part is that it is actually warmer than being on land! Average water temperatures of 24°C might just convince you to stay on the beach all day long. Who needs a heated swimming pool when the ocean itself is heated? August and July might be a little bit hotter but so what? When the climate is this warm anyway, a degree or two is not going to spoil your stay. You get to choose between slightly hotter weather and a less crowded resort.

Hotels in Mojacar in September

Hotel Albirico

Fancy the Hotel Albirico for September? It will be your last chance, as it is shut during the off season from October onwards. This traditional hotel is close by the sea and also gives you very easy access to the local public transport system. With a restaurant on site, you may not need to use it, as everything you need is right here.

Hotel Provenzal

How about the Hotel Provenzal? It's described as cheap and cheerful, a good budget option that won't let you down. It's a family run business which means the owners take pride in keeping everything running smoothly. The rooms overlook the sea, as does the terrace. There's also a restaurant on site.

The Pierre & Vacances Apartamentos Mojacar Playa

The Pierre & Vacances Apartamentos Mojacar Playa offers two pools and a solarium, and all of the apartments are fully furnished including their own kitchens. They are modern too, with dishwashers and coffee machines provided. This is a chance to be a bit more independent without missing out on great facilities.

Beaches in Mojacar in September

Playa de las Ventanicas

If you want to make the most of 24°C water, you will need to get down to the beach. There are plenty of them available, so take your pick! You could try the Playa de las Ventanicas, the last sandy beach near the urban centre. It is one of the biggest in the town and has lots of leisure and relaxation services, as well as regular cleaning. This has earned it the EU Blue Flag award.

Playa Piedra Villazar

Another recipient of the same honour is the Playa Piedra Villazar, which is named after the interesting rock structure on the sand. There are changing rooms, a beach bar, and a playground here, all of which makes it a great place for families to try.

Bars and Restaurants

Neo Beach Club

The Neo Beach Club may sound like a place to dance the night away, but it's actually a fine dining restaurant. Situated right on the beach as the name promises, it has beautiful ocean views from an elegant modern terrace. They chose the name for connotations of new challenges, being chosen, and the connection to the ocean that laps at their shore.

Mediterraneo

That same ocean-named Mediterraneo is a restaurant which is better for those who need to stick to a budget. That is not to say that the food is low quality, as by all accounts it will not disappoint. Of course, there are also fantastic views across the water. A great place to eat traditional Spanish food while enjoying the scenery.

Dolce Vita

Then there is Dolce Vita, another Spanish restaurant by the sea. The parasols here will keep you sheltered from the heat of the sun while you dine on a sparkling terrace. At night time it transforms into a local hotspot with live music enjoyed in the bar area, where you can spend the whole evening enjoying yourself.
