What's the weather like in Mojacar in February?
Sea Temperature
If you want to go swimming in the sea in February, you will need to prepare to wear a wetsuit or have a towel to dry yourself off soon after you get out, as the average temperatures reach their lowest point of the year this month. 15°C is all that you can expect, though from here on in the climate in Mojacar does continue to warm up. The great thing about this time of year is that the crowds tend to be smaller thanks to the lower temperatures than found in other seasons.
Sunshine Hours
There are however still 8 hours of sunshine a day in this part of Spain, and this gives you plenty of time to explore as much as you would like. You will want to look out for the forecast, however, as 18mm of rain is set to fall over 10 days this month. While this might not be too significant on a daily basis, it does mean that you should prepare for rain if you are planning to stray far from your hotel a small umbrella or a waterproof coat should be enough to keep you dry. Rain showers should not be too severe, however, and heavy downpours will not last long at all.
Temperature
So what about the heat? Average temperatures during the day tend to be around 12°C this month, though of course they can register higher and lower than this on individual days. The general average high is around 16°C, while the corresponding low figure is 8°C. This is a fair amount of variation, so prepare for both eventualities. Temperatures will rise as we go into March, so if you are looking for a slightly warmer stay, you may wish to push your holiday forward a little. We are in the winter months at this point, so take that into account when you are deciding what to pack.
