Things to Do
Visitors who are interested in the region's history should go to the Archaeological zone of Canada de Los Gatos in Mogan. This site that was only recently excavated, is an example of the area's pre-Hispanic population, with stone houses, burial pits, tombs and caves. It is an important site for archaeological and cultural reasons and is estimated to be more than 1,300 years old. Enjoy a walk up to this hillside site and while there, spend time admiring the views of the ocean, marina and town.
A day trip to the nearby resort of Maspalomas allows visitors to see the Maspalomas lighthouse. This is a lovely area to walk along the coast and enjoy the scenery, while the lighthouse itself is a great feature than stands out far along the bay. Come down during the day and make the most of the great shopping in the area, or visit in the evening and experience the local restaurants and bars for a different night out.
