Temperature

Milan, or Milano as the locals call it, is a vibrant and colourful city located in the Lombardy region of Italy. The second biggest city in Italy, it is visited by millions of tourists a year who are drawn to its amazing culture, historic attractions and, of course, its fashion scene. Milan is one of the world's major fashion capitals.

The city of Milan is characterised by a climate that varies greatly throughout each season, with cold, rainy weather in the winter and high temperatures and sunshine in the summer. In July, the hot, summer weather continues, with sizzling temperatures and long, sunny days increasing in fact from June. As a result, tourists flock to the city at this time of year to enjoy the beautiful weather Milan experiences. July can get very busy in the city, so bear this in mind when planning your trip.

The average daily temperature in Milan in this month is 25°C, though highs can hit a tropical 31°C at times. Temperatures do drop at night, but rarely ever fall below the average minimum temperature of 19°C. The heat can feel quite sweltering at times, as the city is inland away from sea breezes and humidity is high at this time of the year so be sure to drink plenty of water. However, if you love warm weather, July is a great time to visit Milan.

Sunshine Hours

As well as being one of the hottest months, July is also one of the sunniest times in Milan. The city sees around 9 hours of sunshine per day in Milan during this month and there's a 29% chance of a sunny day.

Rain

However, with the rising temperatures and humidity comes some storms and rainfall to Milan in July and this is one of the wettest months of the year! The city has an average rainfall of 101mm of precipitation in July, which falls over 9 wet days throughout the month.

Though this place is all about great wine, there's also a small selection of snacks and light bites for guests to enjoy.

Things to do in Milan in July

Because of the sudden influx of tourists in summer, you may find that you face crowds at some of the main tourist attractions at this time of the year in Milan.

To ensure you see all the major sights Milan has to offer, you can take a guided bus tour through the city, which stops at the main sights and even gives you some time for shopping. The air conditioned bus also means this can be a more pleasant experience at this time of year than doing one of the walking tours of the city.  However, if you do not find the heat to be too uncomfortable, there are also free guided walking tours of the city which will show you many of the major sites and attractions as well.

For a break from the scorching summer weather, the museums and art galleries around the city provide a perfect way to while away the day, away from the peak hours of sun and heat in Milan. One of the most popular art galleries in Milan is the Galleria d'Arte Moderna. Located inside the Villa Reale, it showcases a range of modern art paintings and sculptures.

The summer is a busy time in the city and there is always something happening for tourists to witness or take part in. One of the most interesting events is the Festival Latino-Americano which celebrates Latin American culture. With food, music and dancing, it's a great occasion for people of any nationality.

For film buffs visiting Milan, don't miss Arianteo. Some of the most important films from the year are showcased at an outdoor screening in July.
