What's the Weather Like in Meloneras in June
June sees the beginning of the summer months here in Meloneras, as the weather across Gran Canaria starts to really pick up and we enter the dry season. Prepare for higher temperatures as well as much lower rainfall, and make sure that you protect your skin from the sunshine that is ever-present here!
Temperature
The average daily temperature now stands at a very comfortable 21°C, with highs of 24°C and lows of 18°C. The sea temperature also remains high and pleasant, with the water temperature rising to 21°C to match the outside air. You will have plenty of time to enjoy it, too, as this is the longest part of the year an average of 12 hours of sunshine every day means lots of chances to tan and also to enjoy time spent at the beach or by the pool.
Rainfall
As for rainfall, there's no need to worry about it at all. In the summer months like this one, less than a millimetre of rain comes down. From now until August you can expect a very low amount of rain, with only one or two wet days per month. Even if the heavens do open during your stay, you can be sure that they will not stay open for long and with so many dry days, you can spend a two-week holiday here easily without seeing any rain at all.
This pattern is repeated across the island for example, in San Francisco de Paula you will see only a 2% chance of rain throughout the month, which is incredibly low. The dry season has definitely arrived, and this great climate is what makes the resort such a fantastic choice for holidaymakers who return year on year. It's the perfect ratio of sun for a beach or poolside holiday!

With the water temperature around 21°C, you will want to do more than just rest on the sands of Bahia Feliz. This small town is just ten minutes away from Meloneras, so a quick taxi drive will not cost much at all. If you have the day to spare and are fit, you can walk there and back in an hour or so across some other wonderful beaches.
The interesting thing about this beach is the dark sand and rocky areas that characterize it, making it easy to find a secluded spot beneath overhanging headlands. The sparkling blue seas are beautiful, and there are a whole host of shops and restaurants just a short few steps away on the prom area. This is a classic Gran Canaria beach with plenty of room for you to relax in the sun.
Bars and Restaurants
The Hemingway II
The Hemingway II is a great place to stop off for a bite to eat, perhaps at a lunchtime. The food is very good value thanks to its placement in a quieter area, away from the tourist-filled beach. There is live music or karaoke of an evening sometimes, so take a look at their event schedule when you visit.
El Patio
El Patio offers budget-friendly Italian food, inside the Lopesan Villa del Conde hotel. If you want to eat here, but are not a guest of the hotel, then make sure to book through the reception desk as there is only enough room for 50 people in the dining area. They make their own noodles in-house, which is certainly a special touch.
Temple Shiva
Temple Shiva, on the other hand, is a great little snack bar which serves both at lunchtime and in the evenings with fuller plates. This is actually a favourite haunt for locals, which recommends it well even the police force in the area are known to eat there regularly!
