What's the Weather Like in Meloneras in July

Rainfall

The dry season is in full effect this month, as Meloneras sees the least rain that will fall all year round. Less than a millimetre will fall on average, with just one day of the month seeing any rain at all.

Sunshine

It is also the longest point of the year, with an average of 12 hours of sunshine a day, this is the same as was experienced in June. All in all, it has to be said that July is the peak time to visit if you want to experience the very best possible weather.

Temperature

The average daily temperature comes to a very respectable 22°C, so you will be comfortable walking around in swimwear or a simple t-shirt. With highs of 25°C and lows of a mild 19°C at night, this means you will be able to sunbathe to your heart's content though you also need to look out for the possibility of sunburn, and make sure to take precautions if you are sitting out by the pool or on the beach all day long. Keep an eye on the weather forecast so that you can understand how often you should be applying your sunscreen, and even when to move out of the height of the sun.

Sea Temperature

The average sea temperature sits at around 21°C, which is great for swimming and also even for cooling yourself down on the hotter days. The beaches may well be crowded however, as the weather is so good that it brings down visitors in their droves. From June through to September you can expect the number of tourists coming here to rise, thanks to the beautiful summer weather and all of the attractions that it provides. This middle part of the hotter season has the added benefit of the dry weather, which makes for a perfect combination in terms of holiday enjoyment and relaxation.

Hotels in Meloneras in July

Lopesan Villa Del Conde Resort and Thalasso

If you are looking for a hotel with a great pool where you can lounge in the July sun, then look no further than the Lopesan Villa Del Conde Resort and Thalasso. It's close to the seafront and particularly Meloneras beach, so you can stroll on to the sand whenever you like. This five-star hotel is set out like a traditional town, with a central square where you can gather for entertainment. The reception is even an authentic rebuild of a traditional church.

Club Hotel Bahia Meloneras

The Club Hotel Bahia Meloneras is another great option which offers a beautiful swimming pool as well as close access to the beach. Here the staff are trained to make every guest feel special, and they also take care of the nightly entertainment. There is never a dull moment at this hotel!

Club Hotel Riu Gran Canaria

The Club Hotel Riu Gran Canaria is a 4-star hotel offering all-inclusive deals for your stay. You can relax here with a stunning infinity pool which looks right out onto the sea. It's great for families and groups, and also offers a spa facility so that you can get some pampering treatment. Sports, workshops, and other activities are run during the day, with live music and entertainment at night.

Hit the Beach

Maspalomas Beach

With the sea temperature at around 21°C, you can really get a lot of entertainment with a day spent on the beach. You can even fill a whole holiday this way if you really love the sun, sand, and surf! Playa del Ingles is a great little area which is right off to one side of the larger Maspalomas Beach, designated as such because it is in front of the resort of the same name.

The great thing about Gran Canaria is that by law, no one resort can own any piece of beach. This means that even where money has been spent to improve the beach, or the resort opens right on to the beach, anyone is welcome to stroll along it or sit and enjoy it.

Playa Maspalomas

Do watch out for a couple of things: first, the presence of lifeguards, who sit in towers at regular intervals. Secondly, if you have come on a family holiday, consider staying close to the resort rather than straying further down the beach. There is a policy of "clothing optional" in this island's beaches, and nudists will become more numerous when you reach the Playa Maspalomas.

Bars and Restaurants

El Churrasco

If you are looking to pay a little more for high quality, try El Churrasco. They serve Spanish style food and are particularly known for their steaks. Meat-eaters will love it, but those following an alternative diet may struggle to find something that will satisfy their appetite.

Cafe de Paris

The Cafe de Paris offers French pastries and cakes with a Spanish twist, which could be exciting for a special occasion. The business has been going for more than 40 years, and has four branches in the Canary Islands now as a result. They can make any kind of cake you like, or you can just stop in for an afternoon coffee and treat.

La Esquinita del Mar

La Esquinita del Mar serves traditional local food, all with a sea view. This bar and restaurant focuses on seafood, offering up dishes such as octopus for you to try! They also serve clams and several different types of fish, and steak or chicken for those looking for something simpler.

Things to Do in Meloneras in July

Sky Rebels

The heat in July means you are not going to get chilly, so there's no excuse not to try Sky Rebels. This exhilarating experience involves strapping yourself in to a trike attached to a parachute a paratrike and then having your guide drive you off into the skies. They describe it as being like a seagull, only it's much, much more exciting.

C. C. Varadero Shopping Center

To pick up your souvenirs, try the C. C. Varadero Shopping Center. This mall is full of shops selling all manner of items, including much loved souvenirs created for tourists like yourself to take home. There are also food options available at good prices, as well as a small supermarket out in front of the mall where you can pick up some food to take back to your hotel or apartment.
