This is the driest month of the year with no precipitation occurring on an average July in Mellieha.  There is just a 3% chance of rain falling in this month, so it is perfect for getting out and about in the sunshine. If it does rain it will probably only fall in light or moderately heavy showers. There are beautiful clear skies on most days at this time of year, with only 9% cloud cover on any given day during the month. Check the up to date forecast for the latest weather information before you travel.

The temperatures at this resort are similar to those seen at Nice in France for those wanting a city break rather than a beach holiday. The average temperature at this time of year is 260C and temperatures are increasing later in the month, with high and low temperatures of 310C during the day and 210C at night. This makes for sticky nights, especially when the humidity is high, which it can be in summer. Check to see if your hotel has air-conditioning for the warm nights or it might be difficult to sleep. Humidity can be a low 40% but can get to an uncomfortable 95%, mainly later in the month. A dip in the sea is perfect to cool off at this time of year. The warmest temperature recorded at this time of year was a very hot 430C, and the lowest was 170C.

The days are the longest of the whole year and there are around 12 hours of sunshine each day. The sun rise is at 5.50am at the beginning of July, and the sun sets at around 8.20pm, so this month is perfect for enjoying the longer evenings and having a meal or cocktail while watching the sun go down over the bay. The winds are generally not too strong at this time of year, but can be hot if blowing from the south. Average wind speeds range from 0 m/s to 6 m/s, occasionally reaching 10 m/s.

Buffet lunch is included, and beer, wine and soft drinks are served at the free on-board bar. The cruise takes in the famous Blue Lagoon in Comino, and allows plenty of time along the way for swimming and snorkelling in a variety of beautiful settings. Transfers are available to and from your hotel, and the tours are daily from June to September.

Malta has fantastic diving and whether you are an experienced diver or a total beginner, the friendly team at the diving school at Mellieha will make you feel safe, supported and, most importantly, have fun. Hit the beach

The main beach at Mellieha is also known as Ghadira Bay, and is the largest beach on the island. It is around 800m long, and has been awarded the Blue Flag status for cleanliness. This beautiful long stretch of sandy beach has a gentle slope to the deeper water, and is perfect for swimming when the average sea temperature in July is 240C. It is safe for children, with lifeguards on duty from June to September, shallow water and plenty of water activities to keep the whole family occupied. Visitors can hire sunbeds and umbrellas, get involved in water skiing, banana boat rides, kayaking or windsurfing, or just relax and enjoy the stunning ocean.
