Père Laval Pilgrimage 🛐
Each year, on the anniversary of the death of the Blessed Jacques-Désiré Laval, tens of thousands of Mauritians of all faiths make a pilgrimage to his shrine in Sainte-Croix, Port Louis. Known as the "Apostle of the Mauritians," Père Laval is revered for his work with the poor and sick. Pilgrims walk, often for many miles, to pray at his tomb for healing, peace, and miracles, making it the largest Christian pilgrimage on the island.
