What's the weather like in Maspalomas in March

As spring approaches in March, the temperatures in Maspalomas begin to rise accordingly.

The hours of sunshine the area is blessed with each day make for warm and pleasant days that can well be spent on Maspalomas' sandy beaches.

There's very little expectation of any wet weather and any rainy spells should be brief and fleeting. Perhaps it's no wonder that Maspalomas is such a popular destination in the cooler months of the year.

Temperature

The average daily temperature in Maspalomas is 18°C (64°F), which can reach highs of 21°C (70°F) or drop to lows of 15°C (59°F).

Average Sea Temperature

The average temperature of the sea during this month is 19°C that's only a couple of degrees cooler compared to the summer, where the sea temperature can reach 22°C to 23°C in August and September. Maspalamos is a perfect destination not only for sunbathing but also water sports such as bodyboarding and surfing.

Rain

Maspalomas sees an average of 18 mm over 4 days of rain during the month of March. However, if you want to visit Maspalomas where little to no rainfall is expected, August may be your best option as the temperature can reach a sweltering 26°C and virtually 0mm of rainfall is expected during that month.

Although, March is still an ideal time of year to visit as the average probability that some form of precipitation will occur is only a mere 23%! And if it does rain the most common forms of precipitation are moderate rain, drizzle and light rain.

Humidity

During March there is an average humidity of 62%. At this time of year the relative humidity typically ranges from a mildly humid 51% to 85%, rarely dropping below a comfortable 33% or reaching as high as 100%! On average, the air is driest around March 15th, when the relative humidity drops below 60% three days out of four and the air is most humid around March 13th, where relative humidity levels can rise above 77% three days out of four.

Average Sunshine Hours

There is an average of 10 hours of sunshine per day in Maspalomas at this time of the year hat's only two hours less than experienced in the height of July. Over the course of March the day is gradually increasing from the start to the end of the month, the length of day increases by a total of 49 minutes! Whilst the shortest day of the month as expected is March 1st with 11:37 hours of daylight and the longest day is March 31st with 12:26 hours of daylight.

Cloud Cover

You also won't have to worry about cloudy skies as the median cloud cover is only a partly cloudy 47% and is unlikely to vary substantially over the course of the month.
