The first is called Asia Triennial Manchester. This event actually lasts well into the month of November. It mainly features South Asian art.
The second cultural festival is called Dashehra Diwali Mela. The focus of this Indian festival is Bhangra, Bollywood, food and dance. It ends in a spectacular fireworks display.

There are ten days during the month dedicated to gourmet treats. This includes food markets, cooking demonstrations by famous chefs, and events and specials offered by individual restaurants.
