Malia is a coastal town on the island of Crete.

Itâs located 34km from Heraklion and is a beach goerâs paradise. Travellers from around the world make their way to Malia each year to enjoy the amazing Mediterranean weather and some of the worldâs most beautiful beaches.

The average water temperature in the summer is around 24°C (74°F), which is perfect for all kinds of water-based activities and there are 10 to 12 hours of sunshine per day and very little rain.

One of the most popular excursions in Malia is the Land Rover Safari of Crete. The Safari includes trips to Zeusâ Cave and other sites off the beaten track. Visitors will get to see the local wildlife and have lunch in a restaurant in a small village.

For those who love the beaches, the warm water is perfect for water sports, such as swimming and sailing, snorkelling and diving.

Beaches in Malia

The beaches of Malia offer a little something for everyone from the hardcore partiers to families on holiday with kids.

For the most part, Maliaâs beaches cater to young tourists looking to have a good time drinking, dancing and sunbathing on the beach. One of the most popular party beaches is the aptly named Pleasure Beach, which offers various forms of entertainment including table tennis, billiards and a large bar. They also host some of Maliaâs top DJâs and provide some of the islandâs best party music.

For families, thereâs Mikeâs Beach (a family owned and operated area) and Aki Aki Beach, which is one of the quieter beaches.

Malia Nightlife

The nightlife in Malia is world famous and attracts tourists year after year. Much like Ibiza and Magaluf, Malia is an excellent place to catch the hottest DJs spinning all the best dance and house music.

One of the hottest night spots is the Candy Club, which offers up two bars and two dance stages.

For those who want to chase the sun home, the Apollo Nightclub is Maliaâs biggest club and is the last to close every night.

Other hot spots at night in Malia include Club UK (Maliaâs largest underground club) and the Camelot Castle Club (one of the islandâs most famous clubs). No matter what your musical tastes, thereâs a club in Malia for you.
