Malia is one of the better known beach areas on the island of Crete in Greece.

In the summer time, it's one of the busiest spots in the country as tourists from all over the world flock to its pristine beaches and fantastic party scene.

June, July and August are the busiest months in Malia.

July is one of the driest months in Malia, followed only by August.

July is a beautiful month to be visiting Greece and Malia in particular. The beach is the place to spend your days, whether you want to sunbathe on the golden sand and recover from the night before, or are looking for a more active trip and want to get involved with the water sports on offer.

Visitors will also find a variety of things to do away from the coast.

For those that want to explore Malia's history, many companies provide tours of the Minoan ruins.

Hikes and walks can also be enjoyed on the nearby mountain range. Challenging hikes and treks can be done up the mountains, or tourists can opt for a gentler walk, exploring the local villages and Byzantine churches found on the range.

There are also boating tours which take visitors for scenic cruises along the coast of Crete in search of dolphins.

The Golden Bay Hotel is a great option for accommodation, whether you're in Malia for a party holiday or travelling with the family. The hotel has an excellent location, minutes away from both the beach and the strip, where all the main nightclubs and bars are. Spa services are also available here and tours and excursions can be arranged through the hotel too. The low room rates mean you can stay here regardless of your budget.
