Fiestas de Carnaval 🦹
One of the biggest carnival celebrations in Malaga is the Fiestas de Carnaval. Thousands come for the parades of fancy costumes, the musical extravaganzas featuring traditional flamenco dances, stalls of potteries, handmade artefacts, colourful traditional dresses, and authentic Malaga cuisine. Street bands play at the Plaza del Carbon, Plaza de los Martires, and Plaza de los Flores. A festival Queen gets crowned, and the fanciest dress get prizes. The last day is marked by the 'burial of the sardine' at La Malagueta beach. The entire carnival is arranged always before the start of the 40 days of Lent.

Market of the Documentary European and Latin American (MERCA 🎟
The Market of the Documentary European and Latin American (MERCADOC) is a multimedia event that showcases documentary films produced in Spain, Latin American countries and all over Europe. The fair has already been expanding to include some from Asia. It is important though that the films must relate to the European market for export or trade. There are screenings of more than 400 documentaries including a project forum and a pitching session. Held every year in Malaga, at various cinemas and venues, and attended by nationalities from about 50 countries.
