Magaluf is located on the Spanish Island of Majorca and is renowned as one the world's best party destinations.
Some beaches in Magaluf and the surrounding area are excellent for relaxation, whilst others provide more entertainment facilities including bars, cafes, nightclubs and water sports. Almost all the beaches have their own toilets and showers with the possibility to rent out sun loungers and parasols.
There are three main beaches in and around Magaluf. The most well known and visited by party-goers is Magaluf Beach located along the south-western coastline of Majorca near various nightclubs, restaurants and hotels. Whilst if you are on a family holiday the beaches located in the Palma Nova resort and Cala Vinyes are better for children because of their relatively tranquil atmosphere and appropriate facilities.
You are guaranteed sunshine almost all year round in this resort so it is the perfect location to top up your tan and swim in the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea.
Playa De Magaluf
Playa De Magaluf more commonly known as "Magaluf Beach" is the most popular and longest beach in the Spanish resort at approximately 900m. Most hotels in Magaluf are based around this beach and within walking distance from Punta Ballena "The Strip" which houses the world famous nightclub BCM. This beach is where the most activity happens; Magaluf Jet Skis and Speed Boats are located here and offer a service in which you can hire out jet skis or canoes. You can also be taken out on a speed boat ride along the coastline of Majorca or cling onto a banana boat with a group of friends. Quake Jet Boat Ride is also situated here next to Nikki Beach Club and not far from Sol Antillas Barbados Hotel. This ride is known as one of a kind in Europe and is the perfect activity for adrenaline junkies. There is also the option to take a pedal boat to the nearby Black Lizard Island (Isla de sa Porrassa) which acquired its name due to the high number of lizards that scatter around the unpopulated small island.
Palma Nova
The Palma Nova resort is just over five minutes away from Magaluf and consists of three white sand beaches.
Playa de Es Carregador is located to the east by a small marina where the El Spot Wakeboard School is based and has been awarded Blue Flag status for excellent environmental quality.
Casa Blanca (Palma Nova Beach) is also a Blue Flag beach in the centre of the resort at 1000 metres. This beach has been artificially improved with imported sand to give it that permanent white sand glow. This place is ideal for families as children's playgrounds can be found at the back of the beach and there are numerous types of water sports to keep them entertained.
Son Maties is the longest beach out of the three in Palma Nova at 1200 metres; it is also one of the best to go swimming. Pedal boats and lounge chairs can be hired from here and you won't have to worry about a lack of shower or toilet facilities.
Cala Vinyes Beach
A quieter option is Cala Vinyes Beach, a sheltered cove with fine white sands located approximately 2km from the centre of Magaluf. This is an ideal location for families as it sits away from the crowds of Magaluf Beach and contains a children's playground, beach bar and shower facilities. If you are looking for a hotel to stay in which is right next to this beach there is SENTIDO Calas Vinas which unfortunately is adults only but has stunning sea views and its own tennis court and mini-golf course. But there is always the more family friendly option, Barcelo Cala Vinas which features two swimming pools, a fitness centre and kids club.
