What's the weather like in Magaluf in September

Magaluf is a lively holiday resort situated on the south west coast of Majorca in Spain. The resort caters mostly to European and British travellers and has gained a reputation for its party scene, with an array of popular bars and clubs on the famous strip. It's not just the strip that attracts visitors though the beautiful Mediterranean weather is also a big draw, especially in the summer.

Temperature

Although September temperatures do drop some, it can still be considered a summer month by any standard and is a great time to visit the resort. The average temperature is still high at 21°C while during the day, temperatures can hit a maximum of 26°C. This can feel rather warm, but sea breezes will cool things down a little, especially on the beach. Night times are cooler but are still comfortable enough for walking around on an evening, dropping to a low of just 13°C.

Sunshine Hours

September is still an excellent time to vacation in Magaluf for those with intentions of spending hours per day on the beach. There's plenty of sunshine sticking around, with 10 hours of sun a day and a 64% chance of a sunny day, so getting a tan will be no problem. Skies remain clear, with only a 2% chance of clouds.

Sea Temperature

The water will still be warm enough for swimming throughout the month too and tourists can take part in water sports for a good while longer. During September, the average sea temperature is a lovely 25°C.

Rain

The amount of rainfall accumulated rises just slightly from the dry months of June, July and August, but not by much. There is an average of 50mm of precipitation which is spread over 8 days. This only results in a 24% chance of rain, so most days will be dry and bright.

Magaluf Hotels in September

Though September marks the end of the peak tourist season, travellers will have no problem finding a hotel room. Magaluf has accommodation to suit everyone, from cheap hotels to luxury stays. One of the most affordable hotels is the Sol Y Vera Hotel which is designed especially for young travellers on a budget. These apartments are basic but brilliantly-styled and offer everything you need on holiday, including a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom in each room and a spacious pool area.

A great option for those who want to be in the heart of the action is the Magaluf Playa Apartments. Magaluf beach is just 200 metres away while BCM, one of Europe's biggest clubs, is just outside the hotel. The hotel offers self-catering stays in a choice of 1 or 2 bedroom apartments which are fully equipped with kitchen facilities.

Nearby, Palma Nova offers an even wider choice of accommodation for holiday makers and is just a short walk from the attractions of Magaluf. One of the most popular hotels here is the Sol Beach House Cala Blanca Hotel, a four-star adult only hotel which comes out highly rated for its location, facilities and friendly staff.

The sunny weather and high sea temperatures of September provide perfect conditions for a day at the beach, whether you want to lay back and get a tan or splash around in the sea to cool off. There are a range of beaches to choose from when you visit Magaluf, from the resort's own beach, Playa de Magaluf which is busy and bustling at this time of year, to the coves and bays of nearby Palma Nova.

A little further out of the resort, travellers will find a peaceful retreat at Cala Falco beach. A car will be necessary to reach this beach, but tourists who venture here will be rewarded with an unspoiled haven of golden sand and clear, shallow waters that are perfect for swimming. Situated in a cove, it is protected from the wind while a backdrop of rock outlets and pine trees provide shade.

Bars and Restaurants

Magaluf's bar and club scene will still be buzzing in September. The strip is the place to be if you're looking for nightlife, with a huge choice of drinking establishments. City Lights Karaoke Bar is situated at the very beginning of the strip making it a popular venue with tourists. It is an excellent place to meet up with friends, old and new as well, to begin the night's festivities. They also claim to have the best karaoke selection in Magaluf.

On down the strip is Club 21, an air-conditioned bar with great views and an amazing atmosphere. Open til 4am and serving a wide choice of drinks, guests can stay here all night and enjoy the tunes spun by the in-house DJ.

It's not just all pubs and clubs in Magaluf though there's also plenty of places to get a great meal. Foxy's beach bar and restaurant has wonderful beach views and serves great value, tasty meals in a relaxed surrounding. Popular menu options include the homemade pizzas and the fajitas.

Things to do in Magaluf in September

The weather in September is still great, so visitors should make the most of it and spend the majority of their time outdoors during the day. While the beach is a major attraction, there are plenty of other fun things to see and do in the area.

For those travelling with kids, or just for the young at heart, one of the most fun ways to spend a couple of hours in Magaluf is with a round or two of miniature golf. Golf Fantasia is actually located in Palma Nova but is within easy reach of the resort. There are three different golf courses to choose from as well as a bar serving drinks and snacks.

Another fun way to spend a day, if you don't mind getting wet, is kayaking on the sea around Magaluf. Companies such as Red 7 Leisure offer kayak and canoe excursions which make a perfect stag or hen do activity.
