Magaluf is a popular holiday destination located on the south west coast of Majorca, one of Spain's Balearic Islands. The purpose built tourist resort and nearby Palma Nova have been drawing visitors for over 40 years thanks to their array of attractions and nightlife. Of course, the Mediterranean weather and beautiful beaches help too.

Finally, in April Magaluf will experience some daytime temperatures that resemble the start of summertime. Officially, April is still spring time though, so the weather hasn't reached its peak yet. Average temperatures this month are around 14°C while highs often hit 19°C during the day. As a result, tourists will be able to sunbathe on the beach or at their hotel pools on the warmest April days. While day time temperatures are pleasant, the average low temperature is a chilly 8°C on a night. However, tourists who travel to Spain in April expect these cooler night time temperatures and generally come prepared with warmer layers to wear.

In terms of sea temperatures, holiday makers may want to stay out of the water until summer arrives. The average sea temperature is still low at just 16°C which only the brave will want to swim in. Water temperatures heat up during the summer months and tend to linger through the early fall.

The term "April Showers" is somewhat appropriate for Magaluf at this time of year, as the chance of rainfall increases slightly from March. The actual amount of rainfall is quite low at 39mm but is spread over 11 wet days, which means that light drizzle and showers are a possibility. The chance of rainfall is around 25%.

On the brighter side, days are getting much longer. There is an average of 10 hours of sunshine each day throughout the month and a 47% chance of a sunny day, so visitors may even return home with a tan.

Those visiting Magaluf in April will have no problems finding great value accommodation to suit their needs, as the month is still outside of the peak tourist season.

The Sol House Guadalupe hotel caters to all guests, from families to couples and groups of friends. The hotel is just 200m from the beach and the centre of the resort, while there's also plenty on site to keep everyone entertained. Facilities include a large outdoor pool, a kid's club and a buffet restaurant.

For younger travellers looking for a base for their holiday, the BH Mallorca Hotel is geared exclusively for the 18-30 party crowd, and its location just around the corner from BCM Planet Dance makes it ideal for this purpose. The hotel has a lively atmosphere and comfortable rooms with a kitchenette for light cooking and enough sleeping room for four or five guests.  The hotel's amenities include an on-onsite bar, café, a small supermarket, and an internet café.

If you want to experience the buzz of Magaluf during the day but want somewhere a little more peaceful to rest your head at night, nearby Palma Nova is within easy reach and has a more laid back atmosphere. Hotel Son Matias Beach is a highly-rated hotel in Palma Nova and was awarded a Trip Advisor Travellers' Choice Award in 2015. The beautiful four-star hotel overlooks the bay of Palma Nova and offers direct beach access, as well as having a large pool and terrace area.

The nightlife couldn't be livelier than it is in Magaluf. The resort is named as the nightlife capital of Majorca and draws crowds of youngsters looking for a good time. The strip of bars is tailor-made to suit a party-til-dawn atmosphere with a huge choice of bars and dance clubs including the most popular one -  BCM Planet Dance. This huge venue holds regular events featuring world-famous DJs.

With all of the bars in town arranged in a convenient strip, bar hopping from one to the next is easy. One place that tourists must visit is the Red Lion, a vibrant party bar that's popular with locals too. Great music, karaoke and a huge choice of drinks are all on offer here.

Last but not least, for a satisfying bite to eat, Tom Browns can't be beaten. This friendly, family run restaurant serves a combination of British and Mediterranean food and caters for both lunch and dinner. Popular options include the huge steaks and the homemade chicken and leek pie.

While it is possible to spend the day on the beach in April, you may need a backup plan for those occasional cold and wet days. For those travelling with children, one of the most fun (yet peculiar) sights to see in Magaluf is the famous Upside-down House. This popular attraction is located inside Katmandu Park and is just as it sounds a house that's upside down! Inside, there's an array of interactive attractions for guests to experience, including a mirror maze, a spinning colour tunnel and a range of imaginative life-size games.

A great day out for everyone, Marineland is just a short taxi ride from Magaluf in Costa d'en Blanes. This large marine amusement park is home to some amazing inhabitants, including dolphins, penguins, sharks, sea lions and hundreds of fish species. One of the main attractions is the award-winning dolphin show which shouldn't be missed.
