Best holiday to Luxor, Egypt ever thanks to Mr. Max our taxi driver

We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and not one complaint Will be back to stay there again and again. But for the 1st time ever the service that I want to rave about is our Taxi driver who was our week long driver all day every day who organised tours for us and took us too and from it also worked out a better overall price than any tour operator could provide and a better service, so I and Disabled UK would recommend Mr Max taxi in luxor, he is one of the friendliest people you will meet and you will see Egypt in a completely different way.
He made this trip the best trip to Egypt I have ever had, he learned it was our honeymoon and wanted to make the trip as special as possible and he did just that.
I was that impressed with his service and attention to detail that I waned to help him out and create a page that would promote him and spread the word because as many who have been to Egypt before know there are many drivers and horse cabs that will try to overcharge you or renegotiate prices at the end.

I have been to Luxor in April,September and December.
Each time the weather was super.
Really warm in the day time and comfortable in a cardigan at night.Holiday
The holiday was great,nice people although you have to be firm. Do not say you will do something with them tomorrow
if you have no intentions of doing so,they will remember and keep pestering you. Say no from the start.Recommend Luxor to others?

We went last 2 weeks in September and the weather was 'abnormally' hot which meant low to high 40s.
Getting around during the hottest part of the day was not even worth trying and the town was empty of tourists.
When visiting the sites try to always arrange to get there either early (08:00) or late (17:00) to avoid being burnt to a crisp.Holiday
The holiday was fantastic with 2 weeks of astonishment and heat.
Do not be scared to explore Luxor, especially early morning or late evening/night time when it 'comes alive' as all the locals go about their business.
We did not feel scared or threatened at any point no matter where we went and if lost it was always easy to get directions.
Take sweets etc out from UK to give to the children on the street and be prepared for a lot of hassle from the taxi/caleche drivers who are only trying to earn a living as tourism is really down at the moment due to the 'troubles' which have not affected Luxor at all.Recommend Luxor to others?

Nile cruise & Luxor stay

The weather in Luxor for the 2 weeks we were there was very hot every day, average daily temp of 40F
Night time was a little cooler but still a very nice average of around 25-28F although not as sticky and humid as being in some european destinationsHoliday
The holiday itself was great, we had a weeks cruise on the nile aboard the M/S Regancy
This boat is fantastic, food was always hot and always something for everyone , staff very freindly and helpfull and the tours to all the temples and sites were very well run qwith a guide to bring it all to life for you
Also had a week at the Jolie Ville resort on the banks of the nile, hotel is a little way out of the main area of Luxor on it's own private island. great if you want a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and busle of Luxor itself and if you want to experiance Luxor(and it is an experiance) then the hotel runs cortasy buses and boats from the hotel to luxor a couple of times a day, altough the local taxis are very cheap but some of them are a little on the old side.
When out and about you will be constantly asked by all the locals if you want to go into there shop or if you want a taxi or even a horse drawn cab ride.
This can be a little annoying at times but they are only trying to earn a living and a polite no thank you usually does the trick, some are just happy to talk to youRecommend Luxor to others?
